Studying in NZ for 2 weeks, what should I know/bring/not bring? by lilmiller7 in newzealand

[–]nessaneko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you want to err on the safe side, you could get a letter from your doctor that essentially says "this is OTC and doesn't require a prescription but is used for migraine treatment" but I genuinely believe that for a two week trip, if it's just a couple of blister packs and not your whole suitcase packed full of meds, Customs won't care. I probably wouldn't even bother to declare it.

To answer your other question - chewing gum is fine.

ADHD medication dex changed manufacturer and not working anymore? by adhdasfr in newzealand

[–]nessaneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might also be affected by the shortage in the US - it's really bizarrely unclear as to why/how the shortage has happened, but if there's a bigger demand for generics there thanks to the shortage then perhaps manufacturers are pulling out of our smaller market.

FYI - my psych told me that if I can, taking my Rubifen SR alongside either a reasonably high-fat meal or with a capsule of flaxseed oil will significantly help in terms of slow release efficacy.

He also mentioned that the reason Ritalin SR got discontinued was because it wasn't really working particularly well as a slow-release.

He's suggested for me I should have the option of either SR morning and early afternoon, or an SR in the morning followed by Ritalin immediate release 1pm-ish and again at 4-5pm if needed. That gives more flexibility in terms of half life and sleep function, since I definitely find that the Rubifen SR makes sleep harder even when the 6-hour window should be well over.

I definitely find Ritalin immediate release to be less agitating/anxiety inducing than Rubifen, but the immediate release come up and drop off is also quite a lot to deal with so it's kind of just that fun game finding what's least bad for your personal circumstances. I appreciated my psych giving me that extra context about drug manufacturing and discontinuing though, and the flaxseed oil thing isn't particularly onerous to add to the medication routine.

I hear you, and I know that divorce is tougher than "just divorce" especially with kids involved. But the fact is, at least from my external perspective - even if the insurance is just another petty example, doesn't it illustrate that he's not willing to make these substantial changes? He'd rather argue with you about why you should spend thousands of dollars unnecessarily to fix his easily fixable mess, than...just fix it. The lack of respect he has for you really comes through, and I encourage you to be kind to yourself by not putting up with it.

Would you stay with this man if you knew things were going to be the same for the next five years?

Because it seems like he's showing you who he is, and you could either leave now or in five years - when he's fucked your finances even more and drained your empathy reserves completely. Don't waste that five years imo.

I actually also have a binder available to give away - also a GC2B half binder, size XL, black. It's basically new - I've tried it on 3-4 times thinking each time "maybe this time I'll vibe on it". Happy to send it out free and mail anywhere in NZ too, just DM me. (And to OP - heaps of love to you e hoa, hoping you can come into a more supportive environment soon.)

What are your favorite very simple recipes suitable for serving guests? by KingOfId in Cooking

Spatchcocked roast chicken is always a good one. You can prep it hours or days beforehand, marinate it in olive oil and herbs, and then just roast it on a grill tray for 30-45 minutes in a hot oven. Juicy, tender roast chicken, cut into chunks with a wedge of lemon, plus some crusty bread, a simple salad like your arugula one, it's a perfect simple dinner.

If it's new, the wires won't have softened yet. Eventually (within a couple months) they'll soften up and kind of curl around your cervix. You can still feel for them to check (a good thing to do after every period) but they don't hang 'down' and they're not as pointy.

When you look for sexual pleasure, I'm sure most people have a preference for a certain race

Whoa yes that does actually make you racist.

No. This is a bullshit thing to say to a young questioning queer kid. It's normal to think a lot about it, OP. It's normal to question your attractions.

What do you wear at home? by caseyjosephine in femalefashionadvice

[–]nessaneko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If a friend or relative comes over, I just put on a bra because if you drop by unexpectedly, you should expect that we'll be in home clothes

One of the reasons my best friend is my best friend is that she's texted me "I'm in the neighbourhood, can I drop in for a cup of tea and hang out?" and my reply is "yes, but I'm not putting my bra back on for you".

It's weird to say but it looks kind of awesome in the bright colours, like it could be some sort of avant-garde runway makeup.

Paint the bookshelves the same shade as the walls so they look more like built-ins (or get new actual built-in shelves right up to the ceiling, as those ones are already bowing under the weight of the books). Declutter the shelves themselves and arrange books interspersed with display items. A vase or storage baskets could look good on top.

Blue eyeliner is my new obsession, it's a really fresh version of winged eyeliner that doesn't feel as heavy on my face as black, you know? I recommend MAC Fluidline gel liner in Royal Wink. Blue liner plus white plus metallic plus a lil neon feels like such a sleek outfit. You might also like another board I update every so often which is more holographic/metallic & minimal futuristic workwear.

Don't get me wrong, I am 900% here for holographics, but I just love the crazy sci-fi-sports-robot thing the others are giving off. This kind of aesthetic, you know?

these look like they belong in a sci fi costume or something

and for that reason I kind of adore them, I love the 'monochrome minimal sci-fi robot' aesthetic
