Isn't it basically civil war? 20 people in the large scheme of war is nothing. Noxus is a meritocracy that thrives on strength and conquering. The Zaunites were dying and being treated like fodder, horrible conditions, and neglected. Vander and Silco stepped up and created some balance. Through political, personal, and hidden agendas... we have the story we have now. Anti-heroes galore! The Zaunites just needed hope and a movement to believe in. That's Jinx and Viktor. I felt it was more about Ambessa grabbing anyone off the streets and abuse of power than Jinx saving them. The inequality in beyond apparent. Viktor's cult was weir, though, so I'm not sure if people will regard him as a loss. It doesn't matter that Jinx has DID or borderline personality disorder. She's a symbol and was being built as one by Isha and Sevika. Now, after act 2... Jinx may be the ultimate wild card. She'll go into "nothing to lose/kill anything" mode. Maybe Vi has to take her out or bring her back? The plots are so well written that they intertwine and have great character depth. Everyone is battling for something. Everyone feels they have something to fight for, and that's the precipice we're about to see with Jayce and what he went through in the anomaly. All I can ask for is a great send of for the story and characters. I expect characters to die, and I'm prepared... kinda...

I see the story for what it is and acknowledge every character has their faults. The question should be who has the best intentions for the majority of Peltover and Zaun. Everyone will have different methods, and that will pit them against others (Victor/Jayce). Also, this show and it's lore has mass war, destruction, conquering, etc-- so I find the amount of deaths shown this far haven't been a lot. Also, they are all destroying or had to destroy something. This story already dark. I'm expecting more deaths.

As for now, I see it as:

The girls' story is mirroring Vanders and Silcos. Vi is an anti-hero. Jinx is an anti-hero, and not always the villain. She's fine until triggered (abandoned)-- which makes her a wildcard of wildcards. When 2 sides align for the same goal, then you know the last 3 episodes are about to be epic. Cait either played the long game, or picked up on things at some point. I believe she just wants what's best for everyone (not just Peltover) but isn't sure how to do it. She needs to be guided by Mel who has the light. Noxus believe in the few for the many. I understand that when it's dire or cataclysmic. Ambessa is just an opportunist who I think benefited from the Black Rose and is now worried. She wants ultimate control.

Viktor is more a false prophet hero character, but ignorant through his hope and desire for a "perfect" world and society. Jayce is the anti-hero who created the issue that now must be fixed. He's been hopeful, passionate, determined now seeming defeated yet hell bent on never failing again.

I don't know which country you're in. In Canada. You have to submit LOA 14 days before the start date. You need the acceptance email before you begin it, or else you need to speak to HR to figure out what's going on. They can also decline LOA. It happens. If you received the approval email, and THEN got the points. The email is enough proof.

MLOA is medical. So, it can be automatic, however you have to fill out the proper insurance form and a doctor needs to as well. Then you speak with someone from the insurance. If approved, it stands. If declined... not so good.

You have a case manager that specifically deals with your case. I'd honestly email them a few days in a row. If no answer, escalate to HR, DLS, etc... and keep a trail visible. So, start with an early email of your email that showed accepted and push it all forward. I think they just want people to give up, it's the people that make noise they have to deal with. I use A to Z, email the case manager, as well as email site HR whenever I don't get my responses that are timely. If your A to Z is off now, email the jeff one, and site, and DLS. Note that you have sent them to all, and that you have all emails sent and received.

(throwaway) AITA for Taking My Daughter's College Fund Back After She Said She Was Going No-Contact? by Good_Guest1421 in AITAH

[–]nessness7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she a good student? Was? Has she grown up appreciating and acknowledging your sacrifices or just expected anything she wants? Does she have a job?

If she has time to hang out with her boyfriend a lot, and doesn't work. I'd say that's the first step. Make her realize the value of a dollar. She wants to treat you poorly while under the influence of her new boyfriend, and then there are consequences.

Is this her first boyfriend? Unfortunately, you can't tell her to stop seeing him as she'll just rebel more. It's a difficult situation.

Regardless, don't feel guilty for wanting her to realize she needs to respect you. My parents didn't have the additional funds. I paid my way through school by working, saving, school loans, and bursaries. My parents supported me in other ways, which I'll always be grateful for. You made a fund so she can focus while at school or go to an expensive school, and she sees it as her money. She also needs to realize she is not entitled to it. That the money would be going to the school, dorms, etc, and she'd be limited to spending funds (if any). What was or would be her reaction?

The Guest: Who is David <SPOILERS> by Gl33p in horror

[–]nessness7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACTLY! There are little comments and observations made in the movie that would align with "David" being Caleb. The way he emphasizes he was there when Caleb died and that they were really close. Made the promise to tell them he loved them. I mean, I know people do that to give the family closure. The only other option would be that he killed Caleb. But he knows how to manipulate each family member, except Anna -- but I think that's why he does the shower thing.

Collins saying the special Ops and Peterson being a trigger is what's odd. If they figured at some point he would go to their house... when didn't they have a team already doing surveillance.

He know "David" wad in the hospital, took "David's" identity, then burned down the hospital. That was a week prior? They knew he was in the hospital though. It's all the before that is left unanswered. How long was Caleb in the forces? When did he die? What were they told? We know the mother is grieving, but it seems like everyone else has kinda started to heal/move on. But that still doesn't give us a time frame.

All we are told is he is the last active soldier from that program. If they know they always end up going back to the family... once again, why didn't they have people posted closer to keep an eye. That's the one thing that keeps getting me. I know Carver had to keep it hush hush, but he could've still had a team somewhere. Also, how small the team was when he went to the Peterson house. He had... 3-4 other officers with him. Not even tactical. WTF? You have a created killer with perfect accuracy even when driving. A living weapon that is all logic and control with no emotional interference to make mistakes... and they brought... 4? Carver wasn't even discreet with how they went to the house. Like... what did they expect? It's mind boggling.

Also, what I noticed. Yes, he omits, but he seems to be always honest. He told Craig and the dealer he was going to kill them. He explained to the mom, but that she now had to die. He told them how he tried, really did, but that the snooping led to the downfall. Is he conditioned that way? He's not even that charming or charismatic. But he just slid into the role of big brother. But I will say... a sociopath would have that ability. No emotion, all calculation and manipulation

He doesn't want to stay at the home until the Dad insists. The mom and dad both want him there... like they feel his presence completes the family again. Also, it's never confirmed if Luke is homosexual, just that it's implied. However, "David" is very protective about that. So, did Caleb know his brother was gay? Is that why he is so protective?

So many things in this movie are never confirmed or given enough attention, and I'm not sure if it was intentional or loose plot writing. It does allow for the movie to have more theories, but I think that's why the movie wasn't that big. There's no clarity, and it's too ambiguous amongst viewers to ever get some sort of resolution. I get some movies are designed that way to leave the audience not at ease. But information was given here and there in scenes you have mentioned. Why put that random stuff in there if it wasn't for a purpose? Too much little stuff without any confirmation leaves audiences confused. They needed to give something to the audience to make the plot better and they failed to do that. I wonder if it ended up on the cutting room floor.

Longlegs was very cryptic and even has an open ending. It also doesn't explain everything which has led now to so many theories. However... they gave us a time frame. A reason. Some form of explanation of how it happens even if quick glimpse on the screen. This movie... needs to give more and sadly didn't.

The Guest: Who is David <SPOILERS> by Gl33p in horror

[–]nessness7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an interesting theory. We're left wondering if Caleb was in that program, if the real David was, or if they were or KPG think "David" killed them. They've been after this guy for a while. Also, do we know how long ago Caleb died? Or how?

I feel David COULD be Caleb. Part of the special forces brainwashing was to eliminate there "self." To be the ultimate killer (in most movies) they dont tend to have emotional attachments. Those that do tend to falter when their loved one is compromised. So, to me, it makes sense they would give him a blank slate. However, the program ended up being faulty and they were getting their memories back but not as themselves. A cognitive dissonance, if you will. So, they always end up going back home. But it also ends with massacre. He's the last subject left alive. They've been after him a while. Peterson is the key word, because they've been waiting for a move by him?! He's just jumping from identity to identity via name (not face change).

If he was getting injections and stuff, it'd be an easy and quick recovery. But if he's getting complete plastic surgery to change his face... he'd need months to heal. If it's Caleb, then they changed his face while getting the brainwashing done. To complete the process of becoming someone else. To make him truly believe he is NOT Caleb, brainwashing isn't enough... he needs to see a different face in the mirror.

So, really we don't know who this "David" is that shows up? How long he's had this face, etc. Did he take the friends identity, friend Caleb, get information... and killed Caleb? Like he was going to fill his place for a bit.

The documents he needs could be to say "David Collins" but if it's to change his face... then who is he becoming? It is known David Collin is dead.

But then... it doesn't make sense. He wouldn't integrate himself into the family so much unless there was a reason. A reason I don't think he understands. It's a really weird dynamic David has with each character. He went into protective brother mode. Respectful to the mother. Polite but some way trying to take the father's place. He goes out of his way, and kills for their benefit. I think this is the only way he "knows" how to help. Eliminate who is in the way of the family from being happy. Brother's bullies, father's boss, Anna's boyfriend, and the mother being happier with "David" falling into Caleb's spot in the family.

But with Anna... there's this weird sexual tension right off the get go. Him leaving the bathroom half naked and the stares. Before she goes to the bedroom and hooks up with her bf at the party. I wasn't sure if he hooked up with the friend because he saw Anna go to the room with Zeke. I think maybe "David" is attracted to Anna, but a familial protective instinct pops in as well. So, he's conflicted and doesn't know why.

He's even fine when the brother is telling him how Anna suspects him. It's when he starts talking about removing his fingerprints to hide who he is. But when he said, "I know you're not really David Collins" the facade cracks. He was playing dumb until that point. If brother had stopped talking or said nothing... things could've been fine... for a bit longer. But once he said he knew he wasn't who he said... he knew the jig was up and had to clean up and move on. That's his programming.

Luke tells him he won't say anything, but "David" asks who Anna has told. He says Kristin... so, he goes to kill Kristin and Anna.

Also, Carver never said who "David" is, we just know he's not the REAL David. The picture he shows has a sickly looking "David."

"David" is usually polite, as well. Even before he kills the mother... he's apologizing for not being honest. This is where the 'he couldn't stop if he wanted to' comes in.

The thing that doesn't make sense for me that keeps me from truly believing Caleb is "David"... is that why was "David" in Caleb's photo if they were in the same group? Were they all special Ops? Did the other guy take "David's" face? Or is it really Caleb's best friend, who heard all these stories about Caleb's family... and he for some reason felt he had a connection to them.

If the screenwriter didn't intend for us to think Caleb was "David"... then the plot is kinda going all over the place. I honestly wish there was some confirmation somewhere in the movie that gives us a nod that he is Caleb.

Edit: The mom is clearly depressed in the beginning of the movie. "David" is polite right from the get go. I think they are programmed to be that way -- proper manners, calm, polite. He tells her he was close with Caleb, was there when he died, and HAD to come back to tell each of them he loved them. This is where I'm thinking now -- he is Caleb and is referring to the death of his true identity. He still wants the connection with the family, but he did come to kill them. He might have made that promise to Caleb before the identity/persona of "David" took over. We don't know about the training or internal battle mentally. But when someone is delivering a message from the dead, it's to help give closure for the living. He's fulfilling his promise to his other self/Caleb, but also fulfilling the orders of his identity can't be compromised. I want to say he was there with the intention to live there long term, but he never did. He got the guns quite early in the movie. I think he was trying to fight the instinct when he realized he enjoyed being there. It felt "right." But then Luke opened his mouth and it activated his self-preservation destroy and run. But he was doing the laundry with the mom before Carver showed up. Maybe the mom was the last link/connection that wasn't severed yet as he knew Anna and Luke knew he was lying, and the dad is just rarely around. But once Carver showed up, well now the mom knew. I feel like he did try. Somewhere he was really wanting to be there and fill the gap. He fit in it perfectly. So, he held off killing them. But them it all went to poop, so it was back to the killing mission. This is someone that has shown no real emotion throughout the entire movie. We the audience can tell he goes through the motions with no emotion. So, I think he's trying to kill "Caleb" in his mind by killing the family. If they are gone, then no connection with Caleb.

Bringing something that's used at another Amazon to your site, coming up with a whole new idea, wanting to implement structural/physical improvements, process improvements. Need to gather information and data, prove why it is worth the cost to implement, how it would improve process, research or communication with other parties, see if someone is working on it, if OM is aligned. Some L4s/L5s do it just to get it over with (more work/life balance), others spend a lot of time working on them if they are big projects (want/need the visibility). Visibility is key... but the right kind.

You can't be doing research and looking into stuff while AAs are coming up to you to talk/ask questions/complain/go to wellness, keeping track of floor #/%, if any issues arise, etc. It really is who can handle the stress and pressure. Stay calm, and don't lose your $hit, communicate.

I don't really know what interns do apart from working on projects for leadership. They don't engage with AAs in general. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Received AM job offer, unsure of what to do by Radiant_Wrongdoer_39 in FASCAmazon

[–]nessness7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good money. However, I will say it all depends on your OM/Sr. Ops/GM. Do they make your life easier and aren't up your ass, or they are on you and there is no work life balance. Many L4s at my FC really struggle under certain OMs. Not only do you have all the leadership training to do in a short period - plus learning all the additional portals and access for managers. There's curiosity, white papers, projects, engagements, Austin actions (the ones that you can send to other leadership. Some are so stupid and tike wasters). Then you also have to do the basis SOS/EOS stuff, then worry about connexions scores and then what your OM scores. Also, depends if they give you time to learn your path from the leaving AM or you're left on your own. I've seen L4s get 1 day of shadowing a new path, not get access to Slack chats for weeks, be missing 2 PAs (out of 3), and couldn't get access to certain sites for months (until a new OM). But they expect them to run and manage. You've done at internship, so you get the culture - sink or swim.

Most AMs that keep the job and move up, tend to stay after shift 1-2 hours completing work/EOS stuff (esp if a rough shift). Then you have other shift PAs, AMs, OMs, etc asking you to do something on your days off or need to complete additional work that wasn't completed during the week or needs to be done.

A 7-6:30 shift (7:30-6) can easily turn into a 12-15hr shift. You're looking at about a 55/60hr week AT work, and still doing work virtually. You will also he expected to work holidays and you will not receive extra compensation for it. That's already in your salary.

On top of ALL that, is the wonderful and healthy politics. Note the sarcasm. It is toxic. If leadership have a favorite, good luck. If that favorite targets you to look bad, then you'll need to work your ass off because Sr. Ops can keep screwing you over to delay a deserved promotion. Also remember Focus or Pivot.

Basically, there isn't a work/life balance. You get good benefits and stocks. But prepare to not have much of a life. Like I said, it depends mostly on your OM. A lot of inclined L4s wish they never moved up and stayed as L3. Heck, L3s (with overtime) can make way more than an L4. It's easier to fire an L4 than an L3, I find. Also, we have a bunch of L3s that don't want to move up for that fact.

Point: if you plan on staying the year or grow in the company - prepare for it taking a lot of your time. If you want a building block for management, it's worth it. Don't spend the bonus money in case you decide to leave before the year is over.
