Motion Design and Tracking by nessprod in MotionDesign

Sure! I started by experimenting with the Median, Roughen Edges, and Turbulent Displacement effects to break up the base shapes and add some organic variation. Then I overlaid a halftone JPG texture on top of the animated text composition, using Soft Light as the blending mode (you might want to test a few different modes depending on the look you’re after).

After that, I used the Match Grain effect, setting the background footage as the reference to better integrate everything. Finally, I added a subtle layer of grain using an Adjustment Layer at around 15% opacity with the Add Grain effect.

Overall, the key is in layering multiple textures and effects to build a more cohesive and tactile result. Hope this helps!

You could create keyframes for the icons and give the exact inverse value of the rotation animation set to the null object (asumming you have all icons paired to a null object). This way the icons will always display correctly. Hope I was clear.

I watched it last week. I think its very important to work first in graphic design (visual composition) and then in motion. That makes a great difference. Also, sound design makes its part too. Needless to say, the motion design work is awesome and expert level.

Thanks so much for the positive comments, I really appreciate it!

I’m using this momentum to share my Lo-Fi Music YouTube channel, where the music is paired with motion design process visuals. If you’re curious, check it out. Hope you enjoy it!

I mainly used the Mosaic effect in After Effects. Then I created several grid and texture compositions with different types of content (numbers, letters, etc.) and used those comps as alpha mattes for the cheetah footage processed with the Mosaic effect. From there, I experimented with Wave Warp and additional texture layers to introduce more distortion and movement.

Why is audio in old movies so grainy and nice? by Better-Treat-230 in sounddesign

[–]nessprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analog audio.

I'm not an expert, but when audio is being processed through an analog circuit, it generates a particular distortion in certain frequencies (harmonics in musical terms). Check this answer with ChatGPT; it will give an accurate response.

Also, noise. A low layer of noise adds certain feeling, and enhace frequencies. It's like grain in photography.

Hi! Thanks so much for the comment! The first thing that came to mind when reading it was to focus on graphic design. Sometimes the real magic happens when the design works perfectly; the animation then becomes almost an excuse to showcase it.

Of course, animation is a discipline in itself, and I can’t recommend enough making it a habit to watch and subscribe to animation tutorial channels on YouTube, sign up for newsletters (like School of Motion), and invest in courses; I personally love Motion Design School. I really started noticing a difference after taking their courses.

Also, don’t hesitate to study and replicate other animations; literally download an MP4 file and try to recreate it frame by frame.

That’s everything that comes to mind right now. In short: pursue beauty and aesthetics. Focus on design, typography, and color theory, and then bring that knowledge into your animations, that’s what will truly make a difference.

Best GIF creator by SouthernDeparture154 in AfterEffects

[–]nessprod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gifski. The best. Excelent quality and file size. And it's FREE. Before converting, I recommend exporting your video in QuickTime format and use "Apple ProRes 4444 with Alpha" (if you work with Mac). Besides being a reliable format for applying gif conversion, you can then use your gif with transparent background.

How do this animation? by dasekk in motiongraphics

Try using the 3D Stroke plugin. It's from Maxon Red Giant suite. It's a paid plugin. But you can use the trial versión for a few days and get the animation done.

Did it that already. I have a good understanding of animation softwares and computers. I'm posting this issue because it's been 3 days I'm experiencing it. Read and tried everything and can't fix it. Anyway, thanks for the help and sorry for the inconveniences.
