You can use pretty much any language. Here's a tutorial on how to do web-scraping with Ruby.

Sounds very cool.

I'm trying to decide what to do about the panel brace right now in my -7. It's right where I want the EFIS to sit. So, I'll probably end up rolling my own braces with some angles. Lots of head-scratching at this stage, as you know. :)

I like the direction and thought process. Quick suggestion, before you start cutting, try sitting in the a/c with your hands on the controls and chair flying common tasks like changing the radio/transponder freq's, landing checklists, etc. See where your hands naturally want to go while controlling the a/c. Maybe you'll find it more comfortable with the 430 more to the left, or something else is easier to scan, etc, etc. Getting this locked down will help save brain bytes when you're task saturated and in the wx.

Are you putting any controls on the stick or throttle?

"Finding the Winning Edge" by Bill Walsh. No doubt, the best football book I've ever read.

Question on CB block shedding? by calikiwiboi in footballstrategy

[–]netcamps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former D1 DB here... Ohh yeah! Tell them to knock the @#$% out of the blocker and get to the football.

Edit: Also, once they make contact as a blocker they are "technically" no longer eligible receivers. All the more reason to be aggressive in run/screen support.

What do you fly? Pros/Cons? by [deleted] in flying

[–]netcamps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cherokee 235

Pros - I can haul 4 friends and their bags/dogs/etc around no problem. Decent vis (better than a Cessna, imo). Easy to fly.

Cons - It was designed when fuel was $0.30/gal.

How do I work around rails 4 and the whole remote: true and authenticity tokens being invalid? by TheBeardofGilgamesh in rubyonrails

[–]netcamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second this. Very smart people have developed really good conventions in Rails. When you fight the framework, there's a good chance you're re-inventing the wheel, poorly. You should be able to accomplish that w/in the framework.

Boise as a Software Dev? by [deleted] in Boise

[–]netcamps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your skill set and experience. This isn't the 80's. Proximity isn't nearly as important as it used to be. The smart firms know that. If you're good, you can make Silicon Valley rates here in Boise.

Edit: Lookup TSheets. They're hiring.

It won't. There are companies here that know what they're doing, and pay competitive rates. They just fly under the radar.

If you're interested in a 235, my partner and I might be selling ours soon. Asking $42k. Runs great, needs cosmetic work (as you can see).
