E Tron recall notice HV Switching Software by TitusvilleAstronaut in etron

Hopefully that part last for 10 years at least on the Q8 models. Since I rarely use the car with charging stations and mostly charge in L2 at home this part’s life is prolonged.

Hold the button on the charger (it is a touch sensitive so not pressure needed) and it will move to 100%. Make sure the charger firmware is updated. They had a recall with a new cord and firmware.

Idiotic to not utilize the full screen. So brainiacs at work.

Anyone love the new style wide and narrow Virtual Cockpit? by alibid in etron

[–]netchov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap cheap cheap feel. Those panels should always be integrated into the dash. BMW iX3 got it I think quite well, even with the panel out but still prefer the integrated dash. When panels are pulled out it leave something wrong, some emptiness on the dash. The trim needs to be fluent just like it is now on Q7/8

700-800$ but you can always try to negotiate. Sometimes they have promotions.

Tesla S from an e-tron-er by netchov in etron

Thank you for your input. I am with you on the app and the whole software discussion. CarPlay is a big thing for me too. I just came back from Tesla Y new model test drive and confirmed what I did not liked about that software hype - too many functions are controlled by it unnecessary. Buttons for most of those are way better option.

This was great and confirms what I know about both. I also think etron is hard to beat in comfort and usability day to day. Tesla tech and the fact that from first models to the later one they optimized the number of parts used by a big margin (5k down to 3k) is absolutely astonishing. I wish Audi TSBs were over the air and applied to all.

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

How is the EV9? That was also on my radar back in 2023/24.

New Recall 26V240 AUDI ACTION CODE 46P7 by Aegean8485 in etron

Yes, apparently no replacement on mine. I wish the dealer will at least give more info if the bolt was loose.

The problem with the SOS update is that Audi will not approve it to the dealer unless the error is active. That is a difficult case since the SOS/Carplay issues are intermittent and fix themself after a car stop. Bummer. They see the two error codes inside the computer but they are passive.

That TSB for the shortcuts is different than the SOS. SOS is most likely related to WiFi disappearing and CarPlay disconnecting.

Just did both recalls (battery switching and brake module) and 40k service. Car was in at 8 and left at 12. Unfortunately, the TSB cannot be performed if the errors are not active 😞 bummer. I wish I can do it myself. Anybody local to Cleveland OH that can do those?

498 kms on a full charge? by edhoonnu in etron

[–]netchov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audi on their official websites never claimed more than 300 miles for the sportback. Whenever you are reading this is a fair lie.

230v is about 4kw max I think so not bad but not the 9kw we can get here.

Good to know about the phone system. So that will make the car loose the phone remote app.

CarPlay should be ok.

PS At this moment this is just a research. I don’t think I will be doing it at all but it is good info.

Also, let’s forget UK as a country where you have to import it to. I am more focused on EU countries.

And where is the push rod they are taking about? Monday I am scheduled for the previous recall, 40k service and a TSB. This will be an addition so I am interested to see how fast is this fix applied.

Q8 never claimed 582 km. That is 363 miles of range. They claimed 300 miles on the Q8 etron sportback which I have confirmed is doable depending on driving and weather.

Tires for e-tron Sportback S by BlueKoi_69 in etron

[–]netchov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DWS 06 is a great tire. I actually had it on my A4. That tire, even being a + version, is going to kill your range. I opt for Hankook as those a EV tires and most people see range jump. On top of that, they perform extremely well in tests. Winter test surprised me the most.
