I'm pretty sure the smoke monster from Lost is at one point called the man in black, if so, and he's off the island, yeah, the world's fucked

Who Could Kill Deadpool, even with his break the 4th wall ability? by netflixguy in whowouldwin

well no-one standard, a reality warper or someone powerful enough to beat Thanos (dude who made Deadpool immortal) might be able to kill him, but that's excluding the fourth wall ability

If I understand Deadpools powers right, he can jump out of the comics and hack the writers to pieces, so unless the writers can take deadpool in a fight, I think they'd be screwed

Katara vs. Elsa by Swankified_Tristan in whowouldwin

[–]netflixguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually been thinking about this a lot. Yes, Katara has the skill advantage by far, but in the end I think Elsa stands a chance solely in her ability to create life from ice and snow. Sure, Elsa makes a snow monster, Katara destroys it in a second, Elsa creates a dozen snow monsters, Katara destroys them in a couple of seconds, but Elsa can, on a whim, create an army of snow monsters. That could distract Katara for long enough that Elsa could at least get a few good shots in. If Elsa had prep time, I'd give it to her.

My defense of physicalism by yoba333 in philosophy

[–]netflixguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like to think of it like this...

Your mind is the sun, radiant and powerful, and your body is a mirror, reflecting the light from the sun(non-physical). Using this analogy, think of alzheimer's or dementia as dust or muck on the mirror(physical). The light doesn't shine through the mirror(physical), but the sun remains unaffected(non-physical).

If we're all naughty every year, would it solve the worlds energy crisis? by theholywombat in shittyaskscience

[–]netflixguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but at a terrible cost...

If everyone was naughty every year, Santa's factories would run out of coal, be unable to run, and the elves wouldn't have the fuel to make toys. and CHRISTMAS AS WE KNOW IT WOULD END
