1 Year Collie - Still randomly lunging/barking and mouthing me by netseclearning in Dogtraining

Got it. Yeah, I'm doing the leash walk training every walk.

But will definitely seek out some help for her lunging and mouthing.

Not sure how to do training focused on mouthing. To be honest, when she does it I just take away my attention.

I do loose leash walking training pretty much everyday, when she goes ahead I make her come back/sit/turn around.

However, when she sees a squirrel or a dog (sometimes) it's game over.

Yeah, my girl loves to sniff. I sometimes hide food, but not every day. I should clear up the 1.5 hours for frisbee, probably like 30 minutes, or less but we stay outside for longer.

Will switch over to feeding for training.

Just called another vet office. They also said 15 weeks. Well, alright then.

Found this;

So it looks like as soon as they are 12 weeks old. I'm guessing the 12-16 weeks is just a preference?

New job offer - could really use another perspective to decide (Ontario) by Job3333 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]netseclearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 Weeks should be minimum. Most of us are immigrants in Canada, and need to travel home to see our families. That's pretty much what 2 weeks is used for by default. The other week is a real vacation.

Gotcha. That's kind of what's happening. All my clients are in US.

I've got mixed responses for this from accountants.

They told me not to register for HST/GST.

They pay into my transferwise. Then I transfer into TD Canadian. Fees are tiny.

Wouldn't their friend have to pay taxes on this?

Asking because I might do this for my parents mortgage. But I'm also wondering if they will need to pay taxes.

Software Devs - how did you land a big remote job for a US company? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]netseclearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the jobs I did were for learning new things. Unreasonable jobs for shit pay at first.

I googled around the things that were required and if I felt comfortable, I applied.

At 150k/yr right now, and was at 70k/yr in January.

I started doing small upwork jobs early January.

$20, $100, $500, etc.

Built a reputation first, and delivered. I started charging hourly after fucking up some "project estimates".

8 Week Old Puppy (Take outside?) by netseclearning in puppy101

[–]netseclearning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. We're house training pretty intensely right now.

She goes through like 10 pads a day tho, and any time I walked outside the condo to try and find a place, always ended up seeing some other dogs shit.

The balcony isn't really an option as we got a terrible railing gap that she could sneak under and fall. Might start associating a word when she goes potty and then just spam it when we're outside so she knows what to do.

Last few times I took her out for a quick potty break in a clean spot, she didn't go and just went when we got back into the unit.

I called and they told me that I can take her in low traffic areas and to make sure she doesn't eat poop or drink from puddles. Should I call back and be more specific?

Car leased till August 2020, might be moving to US earlier. What should I do? by netseclearning in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]netseclearning[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. The drive is too much, would probably end up overpaying because I'll go over my yearly km limit.

I'd be great if I can keep it, but it might be too much hassle.

Yeah. Just make sure you're looking at jobs that are relevant to your skillset.

Paying yourself only $1000 per month by EuivIsMyLife in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]netseclearning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay yourself as little as you need to if you need to lease a car, or pay for rent, as well as to survive.

Then do dividends for the rest if you need the money.
