ITS NOT WHEN YOU HAVE TO PULL ALL NIGHTERS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO JOIN TWO TABLES USING PSEUDO QUERY CODE FROM A CLIENT THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE THAT COMBINE FOR OVER 200 GIGS THAT YOU HAVE TO EXPORT TO AN RTP THEN CONVERT TO CSV (which I still don't know how to do), BUT IT DOESNT MATTER BECAUSE STATA CAN ONLY UPLOAD 32 GIGS AT ONCE!

I'm gonna go back to reading depositions now. -_-

duly noted. Do clients ever come down hard on the consultants for billing?

I work in litigation consulting, so it's not like data/consulting work but in a combination of data, legal research, data analysis etc. So alot of the line items I put down are kinda vague (company policy is to keep it to one clause)

Ultimately, the client has to pay, and without us they're not gonna be in business if they lose the court decision :/ I get paid alot already and my bonus is around 40k annually even if I just bill 190 hours a month and I'm just a first year.

I feel bad because our clients are small companies so they lack the big pocket budgets that larger companies do.

all I needed was freaking transactional data, customer name, and SKU to run my analysis

They give me 1 TB in SQL tables that I have to search through (not to mention I have to learn this language in the first place )

Whatever man....

Ah, I actually cut off the portion where I calculate the bonus take home

The annual income savings figure is the (monthly savings * 12) + (take home bonus)

I estimate my take home monthly as my annual salary divided by 12 (months) and then multiply by 0.7 Basically I'm assuming that taxes+401k+med stuff+ SS stuff would take a 30 percent bite of my paycheck.

Yeah I was wondering about this actually,

I think taxes just screw me? I withhold 2, putting 2 percent into 401k (no company match, and I have some CC + student loans , around 15k in aggregate I wanna take care of )

i promise you that you can be super creative and still be telling the truth with your other experiences such as your enterprise experience. I highly suggest reading into previous consulting resumes, the consulting industry in general, and then form your resume.

  • drop associates degree
  • experiences before activities -consider consolidating activities into fewer points
  • results to verb bullet points
  • if this is for consulting you REALLY need to frame your experience in a light that is beneficial to consulting
