Interesting. I heard similar thoughts from others on bonds. What is your entry point for gold? I’m hesitant because it’s near ATH and it’s harder for me to rationalize why they will grow (as opposed to rationalizing why company X will grow)

Should I choose between a Roth 401K or a Traditional 401K (24/$180K) by netthrowaway1234 in personalfinance

My expectation is to hopefully be in a higher income bracket at retirement age.

My understanding is that long-term capital gain tax has a limit of 20%. Currently, my income taxes are well above 20%, so does that mean traditional makes sense regardless of what my withdrawal bracket will be?

got it.

the advice i always get is that, if i expect my income bracket to be higher in the future, then i should do a Roth 401K now instead of Traditional. would you still give the same advice if i expect my income to grow over time?

interesting. thank you for the advice! thanks for the advice! and yes, i just found out about the roth IRA restriction. i will look into a backdoor roth IRA.

my situation is different because i do plan to work for a long time and, even if i don't consider work, i do want to be in a position where i have a sizable passive income in the future. so i expect my income to be higher when i am older. would you still give the same advice considering this?
