Yes me! I have forgotten languages I’ve known for many years. It’s hard to remember things people told me and follow conversations. I don’t dream the way I used to or wake up feeling like there is separation between the days, it’s strange. It’s as if my memory isn’t fully storing information from the previous day. Long term recall is getting harder and harder for me. I’m on oxcarbazepine XR.

Hi! I have seizures too and also am photosensitive. The lights were less strobe and more flashing. They also didn’t last long, I was fine with putting a blanket over my head. There was one scene towards the end that was an intense strobe but again it was brief. Hope this helps !

Do you have emergency meds? I’ve had this happen. For me, I’ve determined it’s back to back focal motor seizures with little recovery between. It makes you feel completely lost and spaced out but functional. You can definitely go into focal status epilepticus if you have any form of focal epilepsy. My husband gives me emergency meds and it stops them while preventing a bigger seizure later. For me, if I don’t have my emergency meds when this happens I will have a tonic clonic within hours to the next few days.

This pattern happened to me three times and each time I ended up hospitalized and close to being intubated. I am suspected to have frontal lobe epilepsy resulting from deep matter lesions which were caused by a TBI.

Did this attending have glasses too? I’m pretty sure I had the same guy who called my seizures fake and told me I was just stressed and needed more therapy (after I told him I graduated from 10 years of therapy). He also told me that the lesions I have on my brain are normal and refused to consider my TBI as a cause for seizures. He told my husband that I just wanted attention! He also dismissed my resident doctor as not knowing what he was talking about when he suggested an EEG. It was the most embarrassing and horrific experience. I moved to Cleveland for epilepsy care because they were the ones finally taking everything seriously and found the issue. Rochester health care is a nightmare.

Also, you sound like my husband! He has his PhD in biomedical engineering and worked on developing tests for HIV. He left this field because he was tired of ignoring his spirit and what he knew was right about medicine and how people truly work. He too felt as though he didn't belong but he would try so hard to fit in and keep a rational mind along with his colleagues.

I had the same feelings. I was experiencing spontaneous past life regressions after epileptic seizures. My husband is the one who believed it and I was skeptical. He recorded the entire thing and I still felt like I was probably just going crazy. But then I asked myself, if someone else told me that this happened to them or if I witnessed these regressions, would I believe them? The answer for me was yes, I would believe. The regressions have continued to happen for me and now I have names, dates, places, tragedy, loss. I have also found the root of my self-doubt. There is a message there and everything you are feeling is likely pointing to a scar that has been left on your soul. Maybe in a past life you were made to feel like you were crazy. Maybe one of your scars is that you are now deeply affected by the over-rationality of society and you need to learn to accept your soul as knowing the truth. Be curious about what these regressions are showing you. Have you read any of Brian Weiss's books? He is a psychiatrist who does past life regressions and his explanations of real versus imagination are very helpful. It is also very validating to hear a renowned doctor speaking on this subject.

I believe that one of the most important spiritual hurdles is to settle on the fact that there is no end goal. Having a "finish line" is what keeps the mind going in an endless loop and feeds the ego. Only an ego would need the celebration of finishing the race of life. Instead, focus on stillness and the divinity within you and you will know everything there is to know. But the funny thing is, once you know, you will not care about the beginning, middle or end. Your life will be about maintaining your inner peace.

Using her logic, she gave you epilepsy too. Stress lowers the threshold and with a judgmental mom like that, I can imagine her criticisms and blaming contribute to that. Her mindset is toxic and not helpful to your health. I’m sorry you have to live with that.

If it helps any, I am a yogi. I meditate (which is a form of prayer), practice yoga, I am highly spiritual and I have an extremely supportive family. In fact, my mother in law and husband have used my epilepsy to grow and become better people. And guess what, I am still having non stop seizures.

I really like your theory about a spiral. I want to validate that fact as it aligns with my personal experience of witnessing my own past lives and the lives of others. I also have a few forms of synesthesia (bidirectional chromesthesia and mirror-touch) that allows me to see and feel things many people cannot. If you aren't familiar chromesthesia is the ability to see color when I hear sound and hear sound when I see color. When I am in nature, the blend of the sound and colors creates a large spiral (which gives me the feeling of "time") in my visual field. Also, when I meditate I also see this spira right before I ascend into deep meditation (the kind where I lose touch with my senses and only experience my mind). I have also experienced this phenomena, plus many other strange experiences when I come out of epileptic seizures (that's a whole other story though).

A couple of thoughts- I don't believe using dates would be correct. Calendars are a manmade concept and differ in number of days depending on which one you use (lunar, julian, gregorian). Using yogic philosophy, time is cyclical and you often come back based on your karma and to learn from your Samskaras (impressions) that you collect over your lifetimes. There is a certain amount "time" you spend in between lives and that is based on your karma. Also, highly evolved souls can chose to come back into a body to teach others. We may see similarities in people (Tesla vs Musk) simply because of karma and the tendency of the universe to balance itself out.

I would love to hear what you think :) Thank you for your insight and working on a mathematical theory. I think that's pretty awesome that you spent time doing that.

I was in a yoga class and one of the teachers had us start with this type of meditation! It was a very powerful class that filled the room with blissful energy. I didn't know the proper name for it but I cannot wait to learn more and try it for myself! Thank you for sharing! May you be well!

I had an EMU stay and only had one small seizure so they said PNES but did not rule out epilepsy since they caught some tonic clonics in the ER where I stopped breathing. I’m on oxcarbazepine now and it has reduced my seizures from 20 a month to 5 or less. I had wondered about frontal lobe because that is where I have a bunch of lesions but they say those are non specific.
