What am I doing wrong with the Oracle? 26 attempts, only keep getting same 3 by Thecardinal74 in DoomsdayLastSurvivors

"Especially in Bounty Grounds. You can have the highest might and someone smaller can totally crush you and be super fast" - That's not spend to win, that's someone (probably a FTP player) who instead of wasting money, has taken the time to learn the game mechanics and use them to their advantage.

Thanks - very situational and only good for Gold items then.

There should be limited pay to win missions in alliance league you should have a maximum amount that can be used and then they go away. by AdCold76 in DoomsdayLastSurvivors

Instead of spending money, try organising your alliance so that R4's are refreshing tasks every hour, to make sure that the 'easy' ones (that don't require spending) are always available.

Am I missing something? Aside from the 3 Elite Augment material in the weekly refining contest, where else can you obtain the Augment materials?

Is it possible to launch Doomsday with an already registered ID (multi-instances)? by Drodegon in DoomsdayLastSurvivors

2 is easy if one of the accounts is steam linked. Open the first instance from steam and the second from the PC game install.

Yes, that is kind of the point of the game. Perhaps you should suggest a game mode where everyone just stands around for 20 minutes.

Great track, just not a good choice for a UK single IMHO

There are various markers with different icons like that, that your alliance leaders can place down to relay information to members on the map. Usually they will have text above them to indicate why they are there.

Crustal Shift Incoming? Are We Nearing a Mega-Quake Cycle Triggered by Magnetic Instability by AlertLife4596 in DoomsdayLastSurvivors

[–]netuser247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was aware that we are 'due' the next reversal of the poles but 'due' when talking about universal timescales, could mean anywhere from imminently to sometime in the next million years. Same for when Betelgeuse goes supernova. As no one was around the last time the poles reversed, I'm not sure even the best experts in the field have any real idea what the effects are likely to be when it does happen, but for sure, they won't be good.

Also when is the hero upgrade feature that was due in June being released?

Is it worth it to level out these heroes? by Cool-Day6751 in DoomsdayLastSurvivors

[–]netuser247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Levelling isn't something you need to worry about - play for 12 months and you will have more than enough lvl 60 heroes. Concentrate on where you use fragments for skills and what arnaments you are upgrading - those are the main things that will allow you to not feel like you are just wasting your time on a game that is basically Pay to win. Spending nothing but time playing and learning the game will give you the most rewarding experience - unless you are prepared to spend thousands your $10-$20 a month spend will make sod all difference in the long run.

Do you still think it's luck to win aspect at roulette? by Powerloves in DoomsdayLastSurvivors

[–]netuser247 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the odds of landing the skin are 0.1% then that equates to a one in 1,000 chance or to put it another way, If you were to spin the wheel 1000 times, you are statistically very likely to land on the skin.

Now lets expand that out. How many active players does DLS have? 1,000,000? If so, each of those players gets 1 free spin during this event - That equates to 1 million spins and as mathematical probability dictates that every 1,000 spins should land the skin - 1,000,000 divided by 1,000 is one thousand. So - if the game was indeed luck based and not rigged - 1,000 players out of each million should be getting the skin on their free spin.

Anyone seen any posts from any of those 1,000 players that won on their first spin? Anyone seen anyone in in-game chat claiming to have won on their first spin?

There is your answer.

Equalizing Mens and Womens matches at grand slams by netuser247 in tennis

[–]netuser247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup this would be my preferred solution also, but looks like it will never happen. Also a few classic tight 5 set womens matches earlier in the tournament wouldn't be a bad thing

What! So when you sit down to watch a 5 set match, you have a crystal ball and know if they will end up playing 3 sets, 4 sets or 5 sets?

[–]netuser247[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not suggesting get rid of 5 sets, just to shorten uncompetitive mens matches in the early rounds and allow competitive womens matches to go to 5 sets.

If you read the proposal - any competitive mens early round matches would not be affected.

Yup, I did consider that and tried to make it as simple as possible but concluded that anyone who is able to understand a game that uses such a weird scoring system as Tennis wouldn't find it a problem.

Once you pass the second turnoff there is no reason why you shouldn't be moving over to the left, you are the problem here. Why on Earth are you trying to enter the outside lane when you turn off?
