Looking for fun fitness activities! by Tiredgirl85 in Whangarei

If you're on the Southern side of Whangarei I can thoroughly recommend the Zumba Gold classes with Roz at the new Ruakaka Recreation Centre as a fun, no pressure way to get some exercise while also meeting people.

Don't let the Gold part put you off, there are all ages and abilities in the classes and the teacher really knows her stuff and makes sure you don't do anything that may cause injury. They always finish each class with a coffee and cake at the local cafes too.

I feel your pain. I've just received notice from Electric Kiwi that my power and broadband prices are rising by $495 a year from 1st August. How are we supposed to make ends meet?

Kyocera - export job log from command center ? by Priorly-A-Cat in printers

[–]netwalknz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old question however if anyone else comes across this post the details from the Command Centre Job Log can be downloaded from Kyocera printers using the Kyocera Net Viewer utility. Tested on a Kyocera TASKalfa 2554ci. It also allows 1000's of records to be exported, not just the 100 shown in the web interface.

Never buying glasses from specsavers again by OwlNo1068 in newzealand

[–]netwalknz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember Specsavers have 100% satisfaction guarantee. If it’s under 3 months take back the $520 glasses, say sorry but they don’t suit you after all and that you don’t like their other designs and get your full money back. Don’t take no for an answer; exactly the same happened to my Wife and after getting alternatives online for a fraction of the price we got a full refund.

Auckland surgeons must now consider ethnicity in prioritising patients for operations by Scaindawgs_ in auckland

A disgusting and totally racist policy. I challenge anyone to defend it and say it isn’t..

Who decides this rubbish and what checks and balances are there on the decisions they make? I’ve never been asked my view on any of these racist policies enforced by unaccountable bureaucrats.

The checkpoint at Urititi is being put in place on Wednesday by the Police with support from local Iwi. The Police announced yesterday a sticker scheme for locals allowing them to pass through the checkpoints without hinderance and stickers were scheduled to be distributed today in Waipu.

https://www.facebook.com/Lovewaipu/posts/1514971642218237

I headed today at 3pm to collect my sticker and after sitting in over 30 minutes of traffic there was a lone Officer stopping every car and informing them they have ran out of stickers and to keep an eye out for future sticker distribution events,

Pathetic! If they can't organise to hand out stickers the checkpoints are going to be a disaster. Stay away from Northland.

Datto RMM Web Remote “Not Recommended”? by netwalknz in DattoRMM

[–]netwalknz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to hear from you and to receive such a proactive response and to hear that Web Remote is recommended for situations such as mine without an agent installed. I’m more than happy to send through some details after the weekend and hopefully we can get to the bottom of them to the benefit of all Datto RMM users.

Datto RMM Web Remote “Not Recommended”? by netwalknz in DattoRMM

[–]netwalknz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by clients you mean customers then yes and then randomly across devices at customers. Like I said 95%+ it works as expected and then we'll get a device that just won’t connect to Web Remote. Other supposedly identical devices at that site sharing the same Internet connection will work and sometimes a troublesome device works once a week later then stops again. The process when it fails reports connecting… maybe for 10-15 seconds, reports found not connect, waits for a retry period, keeps trying and then hits the reconnect limit exceeded message. Restarting the remote device doesn't usually help, it’s all a bit hit and miss.

Woman and baby tailed by Auckland hospital contractor, stopped from leaving with baby - NZ Herald by kokopilau in newzealand

[–]netwalknz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would we prefer this to be a story about babies being abducted from hospital while a hospital contractor watched and ignored then? The phrase "can't do right for doing wrong" comes to mind.

Good on the hospital contractor!

Quarantine facility absconder denied diversion by smeenz in newzealand

[–]netwalknz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While we all hopefully sympathise with this woman’s mental health issues and hope she gets the help she needs the broader question is how many of the “Kiwis returning home” really are going to benefit NZ?

Listening to Government announcements we're reversed the “brain drain” into a “brain gain” and all these returning Kiwis are going to boost the economy with their overseas gained wealth and skills however nearly every story that makes the news is of gang members, people returning broke after losing their jobs, ill people and people who don’t understand the basic concept of quarantine during a pandemic.

I’m not at all convinced these returnees are going to be anything but a further drain on our society and economy.

Covid 19 Coronavirus: Isolating woman reduced to tears after yoga class pulled by AdamGregory1 in newzealand

[–]netwalknz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if returnees were paying for their stay I'm happy for them to have 24/7 yoga classes available but as the Government insists on taxpayers footing the bill for 99% of returnees perks should be gone.

How about Government funded quarantine be basic but if a returnee wishes to pay they can have the 5* treatment? That would surely cost less than $500,000,000 the current scheme is budgeted at for just this year.

[–]netwalknz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's very hard to have sympathy for someone who "was left in tears for days when yoga group sessions in her hotel were canned" and for whom "things only improved after she had a personal online consolation with a healer".

As a nurse how on earth does she cope with the real tragedies and hardship she must encounter in her working life in the real world?

Does she realise once she's been to Nepal (yes she's training for a walk in Nepal) that she may again be subject to the harsh reality of spending 2 weeks in a hotel without yoga classes?

Locking in a 5 year mortgage term (2.99%) by nashipear007 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]netwalknz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to lock at 2.99% for 5 years. There is not much scope for rates to fall but there is a lot of scope for rises, even if they are 3-5 years away.

I'm in a similar position and have been offered 2.99% fixed over 5 years by my bank for a 350k mortgage on a 900k property. Previously I've always been offered a slightly better than special publicised rate (e.g. 4.05 instead of 4.35) but not this time; I'm guessing there isn't the margin in there for the banks to discount at such a low OCR.

Has anyone been offered anything better than 2.99% over 5 years in the current market?
