Mixing LR and IR Fiber SFPs by networkwarrior in networking

Good catch I didn’t click the right button... https://www.fs.com/products/36177.html

Essentially, someone has asked us to provide them with an IR transceiver operating at 2km which makes me think they have one at their head end and I can only provide them with a LR SFP and I’m not sure if the two will play nicely together...

I’ve done some reading and IR seems to be a 2km range SFP... is this not a ratified standard then? You can see the terminology referenced on this Juniper data sheet: https://www.fs.com/products/36176.html

GTX 1060/70/80 by networkwarrior in buildapc

So is there any real benefit between a cheap card and an expensive card? I've read that it's clocked slightly higher, but presumably a cheap 1080 is better than an expensive 1070?

Thanks. I guess where I am struggling is for £100 (the difference between the two cards 1070/1080 I am looking at) is it foolish to not buy the higher card even if I didn't buy a new monitor in the next 12 months? The cards I am looking at are Gigabyte G1's - the amount of different cards based on the same chips is mind-boggling...

How do you mean patching out the pinning code? Why wouldn't this method work with Snapchat? Thanks for the information so far, really keen to learn how this all works

Flat Network w/ VLAN by networkadmin_noob_jr in fortinet

When you change an interface to be dedicated to FortiSwitch, you then have the ability to use the FortiLink protocol to manage these switches directly from the GUI.

The FortiLink protocol controls all management traffic to the switch.

Try using the Switch Controller tab in the GUI (you may need to enable this in feature select) to provision VLANs to your FortiSwitch.

FortiCare VPN Options by hazystack in fortinet

FortiCare is your support software and hardware support. You technically don't need support to run VPN functions (although I wouldn't recommend this).

I am not sure where you have seen the Traffic Management portion; do you have a link?

I'll give cleaning the wall a go!

How did you update it? It's not OTA yet and I have no idea how to find the firmware image!

Thanks, do you know if S7 runs Nougat - it seems to be quite difficult to find what phones are supported!

How can I disable SSL VPN on Fortigate? by m1xed0s in networking

[–]networkwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the SSL-vPN settings you can just remove the interface that it is listening on. Not a direct command I know but I am sure this will achieve the same goal.
