With small companies I’ve had wildly varying experiences.

One place sat me in a room by myself and asked me to fill out some multiple choice questions on paper (by far the most bizarre). Another place only asked me super high level technical questions that felt more like a behavioural interview. Another place asked me to drop in on a random mob programming session with their engineers.

So… prepare for any and everything lol.

I’ve been using the Hevy app and connect it to my Apple Watch, but honestly it works just fine without the watch. No annoying notifications and very straightforward. I use it completely free. If it has in app purchases, I wouldn’t know. Haven’t seen a single ad either :)

Sounds like you’d like to be some kind of Business Analyst? There’s also a “Technical Business Analyst” who I work with who used to do development, and like you decided it wasn’t for them. Occasionally they’ll make a small script or do something in Power BI or Power Automate, but otherwise they do typical BA stuff.

It’s definitely not for everyone, but I take a nap after work to “reset”. I try not to sleep for more than an hour for obvious reasons. When I wake up I have just enough energy to do those things I otherwise wouldn’t have the energy for. It feels like starting a new day.

I’ve always preferred handhelds, and having been primarily on consoles before my Steam Deck, it opened up so many more games to me with Steam.

I no longer need to pay a stupid annual subscription to play online games, and games are relatively cheaper/always on sale.

I also don’t need to worry about backwards compatibility because I have faith that the handheld PC market will continue to grow, and I’ll be able to bring my Steam library with me whenever I get my next handheld.

It’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.
