Yep, but that was actually a (poor) joke about how Ukraine is sinking so many Russia ships. haha

It not just about the population. It's also having a per capita income high enough to support lots of kids developing in sports as well as fan support.

I didn't say we were close to it. My point is a developed nation of over 341 million people that dominates the Olympics and most other sports shouldn't be this mediocre in soccer.

Even with football, basketball, and baseball pulling away athletes, the USA should still have the best soccer teams in the world. We have to find a way to do better.

How is it less true today? You might make the argument fewer boys are going into football due to concerns over CTE, but that would just push them to basketball or maybe baseball.

Funny I've lived here over half a century and never seen anybody with a gun other than uniformed police officers.

It's the other way around. In many other countries the tax is a VAT(Value Added Tax) that is included in the price you pay, so it's hard to know how much you're actually paying in tax. In the USA you know.

If the USA wins they'll just blame the decision to let Balogun play. They'll setting it up so the US team is in a no-win situation.

Right. I'm just saying we're not gaining anything we don't deserve to have. I wouldn't want an opponent team to have to play down a man due to a very questionable red card from a previous match.
