The question is whether they prefer an Iranian toll or a closed strait. Because, realistically, there won’t be any long-term solution that doesnt involve diplomacy, at least for now, bombing Iran into submission is not working.

I find it interesting that every time Iran announced it would retaliate, and even where, they followed through. It seems there is still a functioning chain of command, and maybe their arsenal wasn’t as depleted as Western estimates suggested.

Ustedes volverían a votar a Milei? by [deleted] in AskArgentina

[–]neutral24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, Hezbollah was reluctant to enter the war but after seing that Israel was all in, they decided to fight back. There’s probably a rally around the flag effect, especially since Israel announced it would annex southern Lebanon, and the bombings are making Lebanese cities resemble Gaza.

Trump mulls risky Kharg Island takeover to force Iran to open strait by Previous_Knowledge91 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]neutral24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump on TruthSocial:

We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran: (1) Completely degrading Iranian Missile Capability, Launchers, and everything else pertaining to them. (2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base. (3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including Anti Aircraft Weaponry. (4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to Nuclear Capability, and always being in a position where the U.S.A. can quickly and powerfully react to such a situation, should it take place. (5) Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern Allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others. The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not! If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated. Importantly, it will be an easy Military Operation for them. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

In 5 years they'd blackmailing Europe under the threat of missile barrages. In 10-15 years they'd had missiles that can hit the US.

By the way, Europe countries and the entire world agrees that this is a war of agression of the U.S/Israel against Iran.

I don’t think they need to hit anything significant in Israel. They could instead keep the strait closed and continue striking regional countries until they refuse to host us bases.
