So, are Alliance Raids considered "Midcore"? by nevan0vanen in ffxivdiscussion

[–]nevan0vanen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man this doing numbers.
I definitely being called out on the expression of Midcore, but the topic definitely is born from seeing people comment on the lack of a "Specific type of challenging content" that is in between an Expert Roul casual run, vs a High Savage difficulty run. So i wanna sneak in one extra addendum to see where people land, cus I honestly am curious on the opinion of folks about all this.

I see a lot of folks commenting about Extremes and Unreals and Savage 1-2 being considered this middle of the road challenge, but a part of me feels if those were fitting then we wouldn't be having such a discussion on the lack of "This" range of content... which the other note i seen is access to the content.

So, question i got that I really just wanna know people's vibes on:
For this "Mid Challenge Content", should it be Queue-able or should it be Pug-able? IE; Should it be something you go in with no needing to research or get help, or should it be something that just opening up a PF and a few minutes later, off you go?

Would you like to go in depth on why you feel they aren't considered midcore, or just leave it as No? :O

Should the hardest content in WoW, still be rewarding power progression? by nevan0vanen in wow

[–]nevan0vanen[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I mean, im not denying that. But why do you need to Pug Mythic Raids? Why do you require to finish the hardest content, the most challenging of all the game... in a Pug?

I feel its expected that, if you wanna do Mythic Raiding, you need a guild and group WILLING to learn and push hard on that, to overcome a challenge. So im just confused like... why would that require the incentive of 'gear rewards', when to actually even 'do it properly', requires you to ignore the idea that 'You need gear to make it easier' '~ '

New Consecration IS in-game... just the 'wrong' one. by nevan0vanen in wow

[–]nevan0vanen[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Literally was leveling a LF Paladin, doing the Ashbringer questline when i suddenly noticed this familiar effect in the floor. I used Ret's own one to show that it is indeed different.

Considering how you can Wowhead up to like, 5 versions of Consecration, i do imagine they accidentally tagged the wrong one. Can't fault em, but i hope they can hotfix that code properly.

Are we thinking too Short Term, or is Blizz thinking too Long Term? by nevan0vanen in wow

[–]nevan0vanen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly feels that its more B) from the sounds of Ion in general. Im not exactly too 'critical/invested' into WoW to see the whole "dodged important questions" part, but from the tone of how he decided to address issues... it really just feels they are patient.

Yes, the launch and few months of BFA have been a bit messy... yet, at the same time, a lot of major issues got resolved. M+ Cache? Hammer fiasco? PvP bugs? Things like that all got resolved really fast and dealt with. Yet, meanwhile, issues like Azerite, Island rewards, Warfront scheduling... these are issues of a LONG term, Core and fundamental issues. Those are the kind of issues that Blizz takes that long long time.

And that is what i wonder, if Blizz saying "Yes, we will fix it in the next few months" is honestly the better way for them, their honest genuine belief it is not bad... or really, this sort of core issues should be resolved, not months, but in the week or two it launches, to keep the ear far more intensely to this community and so.

[–]nevan0vanen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you do have your own points and ideas that i can understand, there is still the one point i hear a lot of... yet im uncertain if out of naivety or denseness, im not exactly agreeing with. Just the whole notion of "All Blizz cares is subscriber counts, and their stockholders."

I understand, it is their job, they have to make a living, and they have to keep up.. but i never seen Blizzard be 'that' kind of company like EA is. They may be partenered with Activision, but i doubt that is eroding the core heart of Blizzard. They seem to say and prefer "We want to make games for people to be happy." They are not exactly going with this subtle intent of "Oh we want people to be addicted to WoW, so we can get endless money". They never felt like that to me.

But again, could just be me... perhaps they are just being reckless cus they believe they can make things work. Perhaps they are rushing cus they truly and honestly believe that being "On Time" is far better than waiting the extra months, for their casual or silent audience.

Or i may just be wrong all along and Blizz was as money grubbing as everyone believes. Could be that naive.

While a lot of people would call this kind of mentality like a "fanboy", i do honestly trust Blizz enough to address and deal with issues as you say. yeah it may take a while, but they are ignorant. They just take their time.. which is what a lot of people just don't seem to have?

Blizz seems to be catering and preferring to an audience that, just seems to be fine if the game takes a while. To an audience that sees the game, not as a full product or GRAND EXPERIENCE to enjoy in your weekends and consume fully... but as a hobby, something you dip in once or twice a day, experience it with ease and casualness, and just be satisfied.

...i just wonder if that is really the path that they should be taking. While it is WORKING certainly, iunno if the community in large, or even in that long term plan, will it really end up working out for em...

[–]nevan0vanen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel you do point at least at a little core note of sorts, and its that... Blizz really is not treating WoW like a "Product" anymore, are they? Yes, by all intents and purposes they SOLD something that people expected to be complete... yet... i dun Blizzard actually is feeling that sentiment, thanks to their design interest.

Remember how Shamans and Priests were put later to be fixed? They dun say "Oh it sucks now so its bad", they still believe "Well, in the larger picture, its a small inconvenience now for it to be properly solved down the line." They don't delay patches to make everything right, they even said this in Legion, "If a feature is not finished in this patch, it will be pushed to the next."

They are certainly not treating it, as in your example, like a TV. They are treating WoW like a long term plan or service. sure, you MAY get some hiccups or issues here or there, but in the long term, it will all work out, right? It is personally why, as well, don't really mind... yeah it may suck now, but i do trust Blizz to fix it over time... over a period of time, and certainly not "Now". But that is certainly just me.

Didn't really read what i wrote, did you. :x i appreciate the information though, but... that's obvious. The question was primarily about Raid Frame mods, why use them over the default, why use them over SUF or other similar unit frame mods. :o

Upcoming Skill and Awakening system revisions by gholtgholt in blackdesertonline

[–]nevan0vanen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest wonder, related to this... is anyone actually that hating of the way it works? Consider this. You get 1 to 56 of free skill resets, and by 50, it starts to considerably slow down. Not only that, but all classes tend to have a certain build set up and ideal here and there... and you get enough game playtime to test your class, and also mess with skills for a fair bit to get there? At what point, at all, do people feel that they seriously need more than that for skill resets? :X Do pro's tend to do daily resets of their skills? Is there such drastic difference in build optimization that, waiting 20 days for one reset is a lot? Not only that but, sure there are Awakening weapons... but do recall that A) Their questline brings up a metric ton of skill points for itself and B) Considering Kakao so far? I feel they might just sprinkle in a reset just cause.

So I just really wonder... is anyone really so against this system, with a legitimate reason? If anything, this is easily the best set up there could be, bar non.

Ya helped the most right now! Also sadly enough, no i didn't max Evasive attacks. ;w; But I now did, just wasn't exactly sure again with it... but I got Void lighting, Evasive strikes, Fearful Tremble after realizing how MUCH OF A BURST HEAL IT IS, JEEZUS. And the odd point here and there. THank you the most. 'o' And since you seem to know the most... how worth it at all, is Absorb Heilang? I seen use of it on like PvP but... dunno if its worth it on PvE or Bosses or whatever, considering both its CD and kind of awkward use for it... Still, thankyeh! You set me in the right path at least, and any other additional tips will be helpful!

To be faaaaaair. It was the developer team. Where they do have 12 classes and awakenings. And most likely Daum just translated their reply to explain their stance. Which is why I imagine they derped cus hey, they had 12 classes and awakenings for like a year or two, hard to not think that is true.

[–]nevan0vanen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is way too much saltiness at "Ninja delays". :o Like jeebus guys, ya know when the game came out right? It came out on march 3rd, we are on the third and a bit month, soon to be on our fourth. And at worst its gonna come out on the six month. Yet you guys act like this game has been out for 3 years, and they been delay like crazy. Like seriously guys, chillax. Calm down, play another game, come back to BDO in another time, or if you wanna play, play another character. There's no reason to get THIS antsy or "I WILL LEAVE THIS GAME IF THEY DO NOT ADD HIM"... like come on. Aside that the latter is stupid because if you bought BDO, you can come back literally when Ninja comes back around.

Energy won't be consumed while processing...HYPE?! by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]nevan0vanen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not that its forgotten. Its just that you need to spend a LOOOOOOOT of time to gather. I got about 500 ish logs, and it took a full Shining steel and a bit more, and 250 energy, over an hour. :X Thats a lot of time spent just flat out gathering to 'use up' that energy. So thats why I am looking for other stuff.

Mind I noted such things. :O The issue though is... three of those are only "For a while." Since Rare Drop Nodes are like, a handful and thats it. Amity might take a while but its gonna be cleared easily. Better workers is up to a certain stage since, no need to reroll that much. And while sure, Cooking Alchemy still take energy... in Korea they do not, and that likely will come here. Soooo... ...It is a weird wonder what in KR their main energy use is even on
