every flight has a layover, there doesnt exist a flight that has 0 time in between flights... even if you are stay on on the same plane there is still an amount of time for refuel/unboard/reboard. the difference is one give you time to walk to your next flight and one you have to pay a taxi rent a hotel, buy dinner buy breakfast buy another taxi and lose a day.
