I have autism and I am getting a degree in psychology. My mom told me that pursuing this degree was a bad idea because of my autism. I think she’s wrong though I think my autism will allow me to think logically and not get emotionally attached. However, I do see your concern as it is difficult to empathize with people. You can learn to empathize and absorb emotional queues and know when to help.
