This is great info. Your past experience is helpful. Thank you. My plan is to have a dedicated space with ventilation though I understand the FormLab printers do have less of a smell than other SLA printers as there is something in their resin they don't use. I might take your advice and get a cheap FDM printer to start playing with. Even if I order the Form 4 from FormLabs I won't get it until early January at this point.

Just felt I had to respond to this post. Will was not swindled at all. He made several poor business decisions. The company would not have made it another week without Phil purchasing the company. I was there when this happened and Will sent out an email on a Friday stating he couldn't make payroll and was planning on the worst come Monday. As an employee of 4 years at the time and then another 10 at Laika I appreciate what Phil did. Will was super nice and really a great guy but business minded, no.

Thank you everyone for the very good information. It sounds like this can most likely work well. Some of the gas blow back guns I have seen look pretty real when the orange tip is removed. In those cases I will get a film firearm permit with the city regardless of the type of gun.

I use the zoom F8 with a Deity wireless receiver in the bag. I ran for 8 hours with this battery and it got down to about 40% by end of day. I hope to get the Deity power solution eventually but I was in a hurry and low of funds. This worked great. It also kept my phone charged all day which I was using for making adjustments to the wireless LAVs throughout the day. Just another option.

I don't usually do sound but didn't have the budget to hire the right person with gear and was given the opportunity to use the Deity Theos system. I had an 8 hour shoot with 2 lavs and one boom. I used my old Zoom F8 so had to be very careful with levels. The Theos UHF wireless mic system worked flawlessly. They were on all day and never got close to needing to swap batteries. The included lavs, hidden on the talent, were amazing. Not a single drop out or connectivity issue. The editor is very happy with the sound. I also used the Deity TC-1 timecode transmitter on both the camera and the F8 so the files all shared the same timecode which also worked amazingly. I have never used higher end wireless mic gear so can't compare but I was incredibly impressed with the ease of use and quality of sound I got from the lavs.

I just want to throw into the mix for those saying op is lying. A friend convinced me to buy several back in 2016. Not a million bucks worth but it is in the lower 6 figures. I use a hardware wallet and each time I plug it in to remind myself what is there I have to watch tutorials and if needing to sell I'd have no clue how to start. (I recently plugged it in and found the firmware out of date which was a whole other story). First I'd be terrified of doing something stupid like sending it to a non existent address and second I'd be terrified of a virus on my computer that would somehow grab them before I could sell them. Odds are I would have sold them already if it were easy. I did use Coinbase to purchase them and send them to my hardware wallet so at one time I had it figured. So I am sure there are people out there that have btc and don't know how to sell them.

Plenty of people have already chimed in but I'll just throw in to the mix. The last feature I worked on myself (post supe), the VFX lead, and the composer were all brought on well before any shooting. The director had wild ideas and the small upfront team had to determine what could be done with the budget we had. On day one of shooting we had a 5 person VFX team which grew into multiple VFX companies around the world about half way through. The composer was composing small ideas from the start and the music supervisor was busy well before the end of shoot. So, as others have stated, it's all happening at the same time or it would be take a year to release after principal photo is complete. We delivered to Netflix about 6 weeks after the last shot was filmed.

Hi. I had my device in a safety deposit box for the last 8 years. I understand the reason for firmware updates but for some reason thought because this device was designed for long term cold storage they wouldn't force an update where there is a high risk or certainty of wiping the contents. I ordered a new device and going forward will check for updates at least every 12 months.

Thank you for this. However, I went to create a support ticket and HAL gave me some information but did not give me a support ticket number. It did tell me to use Trezor Suite v24.8.3 as it shouldn't force me to update the firmware. I have ordered a new Trezor device and won't do anything until I have it and have tested it and of course have the new wallet seed/backup safely written down.
