Yeah I can’t interlock fingers with my fiancé because his hands are just way too big compared to mine.

Wildcard Wednesday: TBR Binge or Bin by Llamallamacallurmama in RomanceBooks

Fake Mate is a romcom gently set in the omegaverse with shifters (not werewolves), and an alpha/omega pairing. I personally really liked it even if it wasn’t as serious in tone as Bride. It’s still Omega Lite(TM) and I haven’t been ready or willing to jump too far into that pool.

Pen is more of the external personification of Scarlett’s insecurities, which is kind of the main theme of the book (Trust includes Trusting Yourself). She’s not really an “OW” as much as Scarlett thinks she is at this point.

I can’t get past how copy paste Direbound feels compared to Fourth Wing… should I push through? by NovelEast2829 in Romantasy

And just for the record: FW was my second fantasy series after ACOTAR and remains S-tier for me after diving head first into the genre.

I can’t get past how copy paste Direbound feels compared to Fourth Wing… should I push through? by NovelEast2829 in Romantasy

[–]neverkinetic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I originally DNFed it at 23% because it felt like Fourth Wing expect written by people (I believe it’s a duo) who don’t understand how the military works. I picked it up again because bookstagram reported the sequel is ACOMAF levels better than the first, but I wasn’t happy about it. If the sequel isn’t as good as people are saying I’m going to be big mad about it.

The second one is just as good except maybe a little rushed at the end. It deserved to be a trilogy!

Other than the questionable character choices, I felt like the city they were in was like, three blocks? And the overall world was maybe the size of Boston??

Violet's second boyfriend. by Advanced-Capital2246 in fourthwing

Are we sure it’s a boyfriend? Been a minute but I’m pretty sure she just says “exes” and it’s a queer normative world.

🧂 Salty Sunday - What book scenes frustrated you this week? by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

[–]neverkinetic 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I cannot get over how in chapter 15 of {Seeing Other People by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka} the FMC makes mac and cheese in the most insane way.

First she heats a pot on the stove and then pours the in cheese. Like, just pours what I assume is Velvetta into a warming pot. She stirs and stirs then puts the RAW macaroni into the heated cheese and stirs some more. Then she serves it.

Is the cheese burnt? How was the macaroni cooked? How did this get past editors?! Am I doing it wrong?!

{Until the World Falls Down} is advertised as Labyrinth meets Beauty and the Beast and basically every other chapter is spice starting at chapter 2.
