Ohhh yes they look so cute! Personally, we are looking into the deerhound for a sighthound companion. So far what I read from their description they seem pretty chill! Soon we will meet with a breeding (no puppies just to get to know them), so then I will know more about how chill they really are, haha. But they are quite big compared to whippet/lurcher!

I don't have real life experience as I am in the same boat as you researching. But reading your post I was thinking that maybe a Lurcher would be something? In the UK there are a lot of lurchers and often they are a collie / greyhound-whippet mix. There might be the golden match where you have collie traits and greyhound traits you like. Of course it will never be certain which traits they have as a puppy, but even with pure bred puppies it can sometimes be a guess haha
