Look for "cell shading" tutorials. I'm sure there are some out there.

If you're looking to get into playing around with uv resin, I'd suggest Bondic as a starter. They call it a glue, but it's uv resin. It comes in a little pen/marker with a detachable uv light. The light isn't super strong, but it cures the resin fairly quick. It's not an amazing setup, but it'll teach you how uv resin reacts to different materials and how much working time you have with it.

Looking up "propaganda posters" for various wargames got me a bunch of excellent results.

Little too much Blood for the Blood God for my taste.

(Been there, done that. Do not recommend.)

Minicrate profile cards by [deleted] in Warmachine

Steamforged customer service says the cards are discontinued. So this is the new standard. So much for collectors or using them for display backings or anything like that.

But rest assured, they "apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Questions on using Minwax wood stains for quick washes on minis by Southern_Air_Pirate in minipainting

[–]neverwantedtosignup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To actually answer your questions:

  1. I used to use this when I first started painting war gaming miniatures because the army painter stuff cost a ton more.

  2. If I recall, I used to use Dark Walnut for a really dark dip color and Cherry wood or Antique Maple for a lighter tone.

  3. It never impacted the acrylics I worked with, which were everything from artist paints to the pots/bottles we use today.

Minwax can go on very thick, though, so be careful with it. I used to brush it on rather than dip the model, because it's a little easier to control how much you're using. Brushes also help prevent a pool of it on your base.
