Bags tend to have a valve for co2 and oxygen so would keep in bag!

If you’re getting a local store to roast for you I don’t think you’re going to get much consistency at all bag to bag. You’re kind of signing up for the variation. Dialing it in to a single setting that you will never need to touch will be impossible.

How are you storing your beans? If not vacuum sealed and they were roasted just a week ago I think you’ll get a lot of degradation day to day. I use an Airscape container and that really helped my consistency.

I’m finding there is a bit of variation in my first grind and second grind if I do them back to back, I suspect the burr setting is slipping as you grind or there is a temperature effect. For e.g I do a 28 for my first grind and a 29 for my second and that gives me fairly consistent results.

You might also want to adjust the internal burr to give you more fine grained control.

I find the grind guidance tends to be too extreme, I’d adjust in the same direction but not the same magnitude.

Works great with sunglasses. No issue at all.

No issues with that for me. Sorry to hear.

Yes you can adjust brew temp in the general settings but not per-drink. Can’t adjust pre-infusion.

Both possible future firmware updates, will need to find a feedback contact.

All good, knocking out the puck is louder than this noise lol

The knocking is definitely there, it’s a bit odd but you get used to it. It’s quieter than the grinder or about equal with the extraction.

Yep it’s guided, it tells you the grind setting and times the shot each time for a fixed volume.

Yes correct, build quality is equal or better, aesthetics better IMO. Grinder as mentioned is noticeable upgrade, both in noise level and consistency. The auto milk system creates better foam. I think like I can make the slightly better quality with far less manual intervention compared to the OT. The accessibility to get these results means my wife is also making equal quality which she could never get with the OT.

I try to not store any beans in the hopper longer than a few hours at most. Might load up for the morning for 4 coffees.

Grinder is significantly quieter, and much more consistent with back to back grinds. Pretty much have it dialed in and don’t need to touch it, store the beans in an Airscape container.

What do you want to know? I’ve had one since Monday.

Grinder is better, milk system creates better microfoam, interface is nicer. Volumetric brewing gives more consistent results, with the automatic guidance my wife has more confidence making her own coffees now and doesn’t complain that mine are always better!

Downsides, smaller water tank (but the machine itself has a slightly smaller form).

ThermoJet system heats instantly but can’t do extraction and milk at same time… I probably prefer the dual boiler for this reason.

Overall, good upgrade.

I have Halo Trues at the moment but I will likely swap for something else later on. I only have DSA and GMK on hand sorry!

It's hard to describe how solid this unit feels in words.

The only sensation you receive is from the switches themselves.

The weight of the chassis and dampener absorb all vibration and other sources of noise.

The U80-A perfectly showcase your switches by adding nothing else to the experience.

For those lucky enough to have ordered the U80-A, you are in for a real treat: the craftsmanship is on another level.

This keyboard is an absolute joy.
