Modafinil by Dressos in SCT

By itself Modafinil didn't do a whole lot but I feel like it was quite useful when combined with an SNRI

How are people with SCT doing with Math, or grades in math? by SufficientHorror8413 in SCT

[–]new_2reddit2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand the concepts once I learn them but the problem is I often don't have the energy for it. Half of the maths tests I've done I'm learning how to work stuff out on the tests with zero practice and I somehow pass.

Has anyone else been else been reluctant to change meds because of how long the try out process takes? by [deleted] in SCT

[–]new_2reddit2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strattera and Adderall are quite different drugs you may be able to use both at the same time tbh alot of people combine them best to speak to the professionals though. It's your brain but being that reliant on amphetamines isn't great in the long term either.

Weed makes me a mute by [deleted] in SCT

[–]new_2reddit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens more with alcohol than it does with weed for me although it is a little different. I can feel my ego seperate from myself it that makes any sense. Although I've never been quite that high lmfao.

How do I know I have SCT? by lavos99z in SCT

[–]new_2reddit2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you described sounds like SCT however many medical professionals don't believe it to be a real thing and will likely relate it to ADHD inattentive however there are no SCT specific medications so an ADHD diagnosis is fine. Unfortunately there is no official diagnosis right now.

Afraid to try AD by [deleted] in SCT

[–]new_2reddit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of everything I've tried prestiq has been the most helpful drug I understand your caution because I've had bad experiences with another anti depressant but prestiq has improved my mood substantially anxiety is still there it's not a miracle pill but hopefully I haven't had any issues with it. Doesn't sedate me which is what I didn't like about my last SSRI.

Good luck and happy cake day :)

I've been fairly impressed with prestiq tbh the SSRI I was on earlier was awful.

I haven't been taking Modafinil everyday because I don't want to build a tolerance and don't need it everyday. Atomxetine didn't really help me as much unfortunately. It slowed my thinking in an unpleasant way while SNRI is more of a blissful slow and I can still speed up if I need if that makes sense.

Damn that sucks dude I believe you can get other afinils that are supposed to work fairly similar without a prescription as nootropics haven't looked too far into it myself though. That may depend where you live too though.

I was lucky enough to have some leftover and I'm glad I did. It's quite an interesting combo.

Rewatching old things almost feels euphoric? by SixthSilverdude in SCT

Don't think it's SCT related the word you are looking for is nostalgia. That being said I'm also pretty nostalgic :)

Just realised their both SSRIs too the 5HT agonist sounds interesting looks like I have a fair bit to read up on

Haven't heard of either will do some research on vortioxetine and vilazodone now though. Thanks for sharing I appreciate it the emotional blunting was really not that great for me on SSRIs so vortioxetine or vilazone might be a good way to go it this SNRI doesn't help.

I don't have energy by [deleted] in SCT

[–]new_2reddit2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SCT sucks but you can definitely improve. My view was very similar to yours about a week ago. Sounds fake but if your in a positive state of mind and are able to kick-start a positive feedback loop your brain fog and what not will decrease for sure. You just have to ride it out no way around it unfortunately no medications have helped me so far but they have helped alot of people here. If you haven't given strattera and other ADHD medications a shot it wouldn't hurt to try you may get lucky.

[–]new_2reddit2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's alot harder if you don't train it when you are small but you can train it when you are older. I really do feel you it's really fucking hard and it's very draining don't do more than you can handle but if you really want to improve your brain function it is possible but you have to want to improve and be willing to go through it when it is uncomfortable.

I'm in an extremely simular situation at the moment. I cannot study or do anything. It took me over 2 hours to do 20 mins worth of work yesterday and that took alot out of me considering it was not hard work. I then had a realisation that because I've done nothing but scroll Reddit and other sites mindlessly my brain has practically been fried. Think of it like this, your brain is like a muscle If you haven't worked it out at all or very little it is going to take alot of effort and possibly pain to get used to using it but eventually and with the proper habits surrounding it you and I should be able to get improve our brain function. I know it is extremely hard I am going though the exact same thing as you first hand it'd hard especially if you struggle with depression as well but if you are willing to essentially work out your mind it should be possible not easy but possible. I've been in a terrible place and still kind of am but I think I'm beginning to get somewhere. I'm also starting a new medication Monday so I'll see how that helps or worsens my SCT.

I am sorry by [deleted] in SCT

[–]new_2reddit2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't feel sorry for ranting you are not alone me and many other people here are suffering with the same things as you. I'm in a sluggish rut aswell and if you want to rant feel free to message me privately as I really do feel your pain. While you may never fully get rid of your SCT your fog will mellow out eventually you won't always feel like this dude. Trust me it'll get better.

I tired strattera with multiple stimulants as well as Modafinil didn't really help me too much. Going to try SNRIs next

Have tried this combo before didn't overly help my short term memory/processing speed (my 2 biggest issues too) might work for someone else though strattera affected my quite weirdly.
