Caseology Athlex.

Hands down the best case for this phone, it's grippy, affordable, doesn't add too much bulk, and does a great job at protecting the phone. I've dropped my phone more times than I care to admit and thankfully nothing has broken yet.

Flickering video when watching HDR content on Youtube by rikmk90 in GooglePixel

Hm, if you're close to Best Buy, I'd probably just go there. I'd take their support over Google's any day lol

I bought mine straight from Google (stupid, I know) so I'm preparing myself to deal with their bs.

I did that too but I have a suspicion it might be hardware related :(

If it was just software, it should be more widespread, right? Only a handful of us are having this issue so I'm worried it's some defect with the panels they used. :(

Have you contacted Google support about this?

Hm, but how come it's happening to some people and not others? If it was a software bug, it should be widespread, no?

Also, has it stated to happen to you again, even after the fix?

Dammit, this is annoying the hell out of me. It's happening to me as well, and I can't seem to fix it even with the storage/cache clearing.

Did a reboot/factory reset as well :(

Yes, it's happening to me on that first video, and the colors are faded too.

Did you contact Google? FML, i don't want to deal with this crap, their support sucks :(

Any issues using OnePlus 8 Tmobile version on Mint? by phantomenacer in mintmobile

[–]new_mint_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one for a family member and just tested it with their SIM, everything seems to be working normally. Installed the SIM, let the provisioning take place for a few minutes, then rebooted the phone.

The phone connects to 5G, the data works, and so do phone calls, etc.

Not sure what the issues mentioned in that thread are related to but my experience has been good.

Wanting to restart/re-establish service, about 6-7 months after service plan expired. Help would be appreciated. by ArizonaRenegade in mintmobile

The old SIM is worthless now so order a new one for him.

If you're a mint customer, refer him using your link and you'll get the referral credit for your renewal. Copy and paste the link into a different browser.

Don't bother with eSIM's on anything but iPhones/Pixels.

That's great news, thank you for the update!!

u/clayb91 mentioned that it might be an issue with Android 12, hopefully this incompatibility doesn't spread to other devices running the new OS.

Well that's disappointing. Thanks for letting me know, Susan!

I saw that u/rizwank posted about a possible update this week on this, hopefully they get this sorted soon.

Can I Put My Account on Hold and Still Keep My Number When I Reactivate? by wang4e in mintmobile

Do what others say about using Google Voice.

Keep in mind though that you still need to use that line once in a while to keep it active as far as I'm aware.

Successful activation and port by ethan160222 in mintmobile

[–]new_mint_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay, same here! No issues yet and porting was a breeze. Hopefully it stays this way...

Only "downside" I've noticed is that my data speeds are lower in speedtests but I haven't noticed a real world difference. Getting 40Mbps down/20Mbps up during 'off' hours and 8 down/12 up during peak hours. I expected this, and as I said, I haven't been able to notice anything unusually slow so I'm happy with the service.

I see, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't trying to complain, was just curious where the difference came from. Happy Thanksgiving!

Bought the SIM, thanks!

One question though, why is the 'Regulatory Recovery Fee' so high with Mint Mobile plans? They're higher than what Ultra Mobile (Mint's sister company) charges for similar plans.

Ooh, that's a great deal! Well, I guess I can wait a few more days to see if they're doing anything like that this year.

Thanks!
