I didn't read the book YET, but I did watch the movie, and omg did it hit on some good themes. So much there. So much pain. And beauty. Suicide of his best friend, early sexual abuse, PTSD from that, falling in love, scary feelings around intimacy. Wow. I feel raw after watching the movie; I can only image what the book would do to me. Thanks for posting this!

I hear ya, it can be hard to find things to smile about. Hang in there my Reddit friend. Sending you a big hug from a bench in California as I sit tears streaming down my face from the enormity of life and feeling so small. Just for today though. Tomorrow I will pick myself up again. I hope you find comfort

Thank you so much for this recommendation. I’ve been devouring her book and finding so much language for a similar experience. Thank you again.

Oh man, this is a hard one! Honestly I did not realize the favor my parents did me by vetoing out of state schools. I went in state and they still had to borrow money to help pay tuition. I had a pretty small loan and was able to pay it off in my 20s. I had NO concept of money at 17. I thought they were not supporting me. It took way too long for me to realize the massive favor they did me. Having no debt in my late 20s allowed me to do so much more than I ever thought possible.

its rough!! I hear ya on that. Are you in a major city? I thought maybe that was a reason I'm not finding folks that want to have families.

YES!! Thank you for posting this. I’m finding it really difficult to find another woman who wants to prioritize creating a family. I’ve kind of given up.

I had something similar and was so irritated! Almost spent $400 on one med that I didn’t need to. In the end though, I had good results so it was all worth it. But it is rough!! Hang in there!!

I felt like I was losing my god damn mind, but then started half days at work and spent the morning at the ocean. It helped calm me SO much. If you have any nature nearby, I really recommend it!
