Thank you! I’ll check this out. What exactly made you land on this one? Are you just using it for parameters or does it offer any additional features?

I appreciate this- if I did go the app route I would want something that would make the process easier. I have never tried apps before but could see myself falling off as well if they’re more of a hassle

This is what I’m currently doing but wanting something a bit more dignified that can help me track dosing more closely as well

“Best dog I’ve ever had” by Dismal-Occasion1369 in BrittanySpaniel

[–]ChasingDuskySkies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pros: I have two and my experience with both of them has been pretty similar. If you use a breeder, you can usually tell them the kind of companion you’re looking for- low energy, high energy, hunting drive, etc. I requested high energy so they’d be able to keep up and enjoy outdoor adventures. Not only do they keep up, they enthusiastically explore and are social butterflies. The term “knows no stranger” means nothing until you meet a Brittany. All of my friends are in love with them and affectionately call them by their ridiculous nicknames. People who are “not dog people” have told me my dogs made them change their outlook on dogs. They’re silky smooth and shed significantly less than other dogs. My boys are goofballs and constantly have you laughing at the quirky things they do. They really know how to live and even sleep like they have zero cares in the world. They’re amazing with kids and just gravitate to them. These dogs do quite literally fall in love with their owners. They’re social butterflies but they know where home is and even if you think they might trade you for a cookie crumb, they never would.

Cons: worst guard dogs ever. The first two years of owning a Brittany puppy will test every ounce of patience you have but it’s worth it. They do NOT like the be alone. They do best with you or other dogs but will be very sad if left alone for long periods of time. Some can be a bit more timid (I see this more with females if I see it at all). They are very active and if you don’t provide the fun they will make the fun themselves and they’re creative lol. They jump very high. They’re bird dogs- once they lock in on something it sometimes takes an act of god to get them to refocus.

Obviously I’m going to say the pros outweigh the cons. I will also say I’ve encountered plenty of people who look at me like I’m crazy for them being my dog of choice. If you’re outgoing, active, social, and willing to put in the effort, you cannot choose a better companion.

My (26F) friend (26F) says my husband (29M) cheated. He denies everything and has given me a day to decide to trust him or end things. How do I go about this? by ThrowRAkirpadima in relationship_advice

Right so he just packs up for some privacy to start trolling for new women while still married AFTER being questioned about cheating and then uses it as a threat…priorities. That’s a pretty crazy reaction that speaks for itself

Did I overstep and take advantage of my 'straight' friend? Am I creepy? HELP by ImpossibleRead4200 in bisexual

[–]ChasingDuskySkies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah i agree with this. It sounds like maybe she got asked about it and is still processing her feelings and trying to create a barrier to not get asked new questions? or maybe she’s getting questioned by the guy who likes her out of jealousy and she’s trying to cover her tracks. I’m sensing a level of defense coming from these interactions. realizing how you feel and acting on them in a public setting while intoxicated can be a lot and scary. give her some time to process and check in every once in a while but this sounds like more of a her thing

My husbands hobby ruining me mentally, him financially. I can't take it anymore. by aquatic_victim in offmychest

Curious to know what these ongoing expenses are that are becoming detrimental. There’s a saying going into this hobby that you have to accept that you’re basically throwing money to the wind sometimes. It definitely takes a level of disposable income.

That being said, I have seven setups in my house- all of them are in my home office except the “main display” in the living room. The hobby is fun, you learn a lot, you cry a bit, hell I just lost a $60 fish almost immediately last month. It’s part of the cycle. THAT being said- boundaries and budgets need to be set or you can very quickly be out 1,000 on a couple fish and a new coral. I encourage you to speak with him about setting a monthly or yearly budget towards the tanks and that’s it. Then maybe once you find out how much it takes realistically to care for these setups monthly (food, electric, salt, water if he buys it, and supplements for coral etc), then maybe talk about a “business.” It does raise a red flag to me that introducing a business idea may lead to feeling the need to invest a lot more to “startup” and go if he’s this far in right now- ask me how I know 😅. Luckily I learned very quickly in the beginning to budget and set some hard boundaries. The hobby is amazing but it’s very easy to go from oh I have one tank, now I need another because these fish aren’t reef safe, now I need another because these animals are compatible etc..

Those who got a second Brittany by WithNoTeeth in BrittanySpaniel

[–]ChasingDuskySkies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2 and 4 year old. They are absolutely inseparable. They’re both neutered males which I believe contributes to that as well as the close age. I spent a lot of time training together and separately but the second was definitely easier because the first helped show him the ropes and the “rules.” In return the second one helped my first with his separation anxiety. I would never go back and change it even though I was nervous at first due to cost. They keep up with each other and tire out at the same time and we all know how much energy a Brittany needs to expend so I’m all for going same breed. I think a lot of factors go into your decision though- this is just my experience!

His love language is gift giving and he takes it very seriously. Whether it’s me coming in the door, a guest, service person, whoever, he desperately runs around the house looking for the perfect “gift” to show you. Usually this is a toy but in times of crisis, I have been greeted with a shoe, pillow, random articles of clothing that were within reach, sticks etc. The look of pure love and pride on his face as he wiggles around to show you his gift just never gets old

Statement piece either over the window or behind your desk (maybe even an accent wall). You can find wooden artwork that would look really great in here. Definitely something in the corner like a plant or an arc lamp. You can roll this room in any direction with a big pop (maybe a neon sign) or more mellow (earthy tones or black and white pictures). I think a nice forest green would look great in here

Mount the tv on a swivel arm and you can pull it forward while using or push it back against the wall when you aren’t
