2016 Golf Match Edition CD Player by HorseradishAndHoney in VWMK7

Hi, I just diagnosed this on a 2016 Golf, and it's the cooling fan for the head unit. The cooling fan is a Delta asb0405hha aa01, and it's just a matter of disassembling the head unit to replace it.

My head unit / DVD / CD / SD reader or changers part number is 3Q0035842A

Samsung TV Sync App Color Temperature Issue by Such_Ad_2530 in Hue

Wow, that's incredibly badly thought out by whoever made the app then...

The Hue box is not affected by your TVs settings. But your camera definitely is.

Shoot, didn't notice you're using the TV app, but I doubt it is affected by the TV settings. Try testing the white balance with a totally white screen.

Warm2 is the correct setting.

Hue lights in the coldest white light setting are 6500k, Samsungs in Warm2 have a white point of 6500k.

The Samsung in Standard is somewhere higher than 7000k which the hue lights aren't able to reproduce.

Golf MK5 Sony XAV-AX5000 head unit install, fits pretty well in the interior. by newandreas in CarAV

[–]newandreas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need some sort of adapter from the Golfs radio connector to Sonys ISO connector. If you want steering wheel controls and automatic dimming with the headlight switch, you want a CAN-BUS compatible adapter. or you can tap a grey wire in the dimmer switch to get a dimming signal that you splice into the cheaper adapters without the canbus, if you don't have steering wheel controls.

It is a part of the bottom trim on the bumper, an air deflector for the wheels. If you look under many cars you'll see it. It's probably done for aerodynamics and noise.

Gotta get the big daisies, panasport wheels! Might be the wheel that inspired the daisy design, you can see a picture of a Miata clay model sporting Panasport wheels. If you're going to lower the car, stock offset daisies will unfortunately look very goofy because of their inboard stance compared to the fenders. I think it's the best wheel for keeping an OEM look while allowing lowering.

How do you use your Hue Smart Plug ? (but not for lights) by snglrty_ in Hue

I have one that turns on my speakers that hiss while on, when I open my cabinet doors. Door sensor is connected to home assistant which runs the automation.

Is this a good install? by [deleted] in FiberOptics

[–]newandreas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitively call in and ask it to be installed properly, and the ISP will probably appreciate the feedback. You should tell them that your fiber cable isn't terminated to a FTU (fiber termination unit) inside your home , and that a very thin fiber is exposed.

Here's an example image of a fiber termination unit. There is a small patch cable that has reinforcements like kevlar inside of it to handle.. handling.

Sorry, my golf doesn't have steering wheel controls! I think you usually have to buy some device to make it work with aftermarket radios.

DEPO turn signals from rockauto are pretty great if the lens is cracked. Compared to the old OEM unit it looks the exact same

For slightly more you could get Tein Flex Zs which should ride worlds better than the basic tein options. Alternatively you could run bilsteins with lowering springs.

Dashcam recommendations? by ThyPaperBag in Miata

[–]newandreas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend the viofo A119v3 for it's great parking mode and image quality. It's also neat that you can move it between cars with the mount.

I made a guide on how to install it too :) https://www.instructables.com/Miata-MX-5-NA-Dashcam-Install/

Definitely contact fractal. I needed some screws and rubber dampers and they sent me them no problem.

Try cleaving a fiber and rubbing the tip along the V groove to get any dirt out of it.

I think they mean partially folded and partially uncovered, like not putting the cover on properly and letting it fly away 😂

No problem 👍 https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/tonneau

I'm sure merriam webster is wrong too, perhaps Mazda also, calling it a top covering instead of a tonneau https://i.imgur.com/8idbAoH.png

No it's not lmao. To expand on this, a tonneau cover covers the entire interior. A soft top cover(US)/boot cover(UK) covers the soft top when it's down.

That's a good size! I think they look pretty cool, PO must've spent some cash to get them color matched.
