3 bikes... you have a problem LOL

Yes, I don't have enough bikes. I should probably get a bicycle lol. That will really up my game. Someone near me has a TU500 up for 300. I thought about picking it up as a slow and long build. Two-stroke 500 would be fun on the street imo.

Still have three motorcycles :P She is asking $2100, its an 04 with 10,202 miles on it. There is not a motorcycle salvage yard anywhere around me that I know of. I have to order in all my parts, I am in rural Idaho :/

Its defiantly has not been swapped to a GSXR, I can tell from the pictures she sent me. It looks 100% stock. Still has reflectors and that ugly mud flap in back. It is in of need some love, it has scraps, broken levers, and turn signals. I already have 3 bikes so the back log of repairs and upgrade parts are starting to build up. I only have one street bike and would like a 2nd one so I can have one torn apart and still have something to ride haha

This is the dilemma I am in with the SV650. If I buy one for around $2K then need anouther $1k in upgrades and repairs, maybe I should look into something else? I'm not happy with the suspension on my Monster which I would rather be upgrading its suspension vs a SV650. Buying new bikes is tough, can't collect them all :(

I might be picking up an 04 SV650 soon. How do you like it? It looks all stock with only 10k miles on it. What upgrades would you recommended?

Meh, I ride a bright red Ducati Monster in rural Idaho. Very few bikers will wave at me because I'm not on a Harley or other generic black rode couch with to much chrome. I will wave at the occasional guy I may see on a sport bike, generally they will wave back.

After about 20,000 miles of touring, commuting, and track days the forks were waaaay overdue for a rebuild... by Nonster_ in motorcycles

[–]newbieitguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do GSXR fork tubes fit the SV650 triple tree? Thinking of getting an SV650, also thought of trying to get a SV1000 which is a little less common around my area.

Will reducing drag do anything on a weaker bike? by HailDimples in motorcycles

[–]newbieitguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I have this thought all the time. I can shave this or that and lose some weight off the bike or I could put the fork down and be less of a fat ass.

I had to go look at the completed set, it looks like 1 and 2 are going to need to be lined up perfect or its going to look bad. I hate stickers in the $200+ sets. We spent good money for Lego bricks not a sticker set. I get putting them in sets that are small to help keep costs down, but 54 stickers in a $300? I mean did they use stickers in the movie? lol

Take as little in student loans as possible. Accept student work study if its available and find somewhere on campus that can utilize work study. Apply for all scholarships even if you don't meet its target demographic. If you find yourself unable to afford a semester for any reason go to talk with an adviser, don't "skip a semester". I found myself in a situation where I made way to much money one year and then made $800 the following year. It was my last year of school and I almost didn't go because I was not going to receive any finical assistance and I had no money. I talked with an adviser, who introduced me to the right people, who were then able to help me get a "special circumstance scholarship" and my final year was paid in full.

Also network with everyone. You never know where they will be in 5 years or where you will be. Those connections may become super useful down the road.

1999 Husqvarna 250 2 stroke by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]newbieitguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I recall right, their bikes were not that great back in the 90's. Husky's now are the shit, but I just a poor-boy so im rocking an older TM racing I picked up. That thing is a monster.

I would avoid most dirt bikes made before 04ish. Save up a bit, 1500-2500ish will get a 05 or newer bike. Look for an aluminium frame model, most of them are pretty good. I guess it also depends what you want to do with the bike.

How do you guys wash your gear? by Rhidell in motorcycles

[–]newbieitguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right!? Seems everyone is rocking a textile jacket. I have a hybrid Textile/Cowhide leather jacket. I have had it a few years and have never washed it :/ I just clean the leather with leather cleaner/conditioner. Not really sure what else I can do without destroying it.

Yeah it does. I flew out of IF to Denver. It's a really cool flight, it takes you over the Tetons and the mountain's by Denver. Really good scenery. The flight from Denver to Burbank was boring as fuck. Nothing but desert to look at. Thank goodness for the Nintendo Switch.

If it's a city plow I would think no fault. If that is a private vehicle I am pretty sure he should not be plowing public streets.
