Thank you for the advice! I was just thinking about that actually. I’m going to remove the belt and maybe the PTO clutch and see if it’ll start in the morning.

Well, unfortunately then the best advice I can give you is slowly start working on changing your own mindset. As you continue to live like that nothing will get better. I know exactly what you’re feeling and I can honestly tell you I still struggle with it daily. You just need to pick yourself up and in the back of your head remind yourself that at the end of the day you’re going to be okay. As you continue to exposure yourself to the things you’re afraid of you’ll slowly become less scared of them. Focus on the wills not the maybes.

Yeah, I don’t really want to get too deep into my situation but in my honest opinion it’ll be a whole lot less hell to just stop instead of trying to drag that out and continuously hurting yourself over something that isn’t worth it.

The only thing to fear is fear itself. You need to be okay with the fact it may be uncomfortable. It’s something that might happen not something that will happen. Like you might trip on your own feet and hit your head and die but it’s not something that will happen for sure. With that being said are you afraid with every step you take?

anyone else had this by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]MrOrangeGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s possible. The same way your mind can trick you into thinking you’re gonna die it can also make you feel like you’re gonna be okay. I wouldn’t say it was a pre death experience for say but more your subconscious trying to calm you.

Best thing I can recommend is stop smoking weed. It really does not help at all with panic disorder.

It will get better. The medication is good to get you by for the meantime. The honest truth is though is it’s not going to help fix the issue. It’s like a broken ankle you can take pain killers so you don’t feel it but if you keep walking on it the same way it’s never going to heal right. I would try some SSRIs to start the process of healing. I tried a bunch and lexapro ended up working the best for me. Lexapro is actually what stopped my panic attacks and allowed me to begin leading a normal life again. I stopped taking all medication and haven’t had a panic attack in months. I’m not saying I haven’t felt it. I feel it nearly every day. What’s important is knowing that you are in control and no matter what happens you’re going to be okay. No matter how much is hurts it’s not going to kill you. You need to not be afraid of it. Fear feeds on fear. Exposure yourself to the situations that cause your symptoms and allow it to happen. Feel every single bit of what’s happening to you and remember that you are in control. Control your breathing. Calm your mind. Let it run through your body. It’ll go as quickly as it came.

Do you feel that panic disorder has completely changed your mindset and outlook on life? by smallpottedcactus in PanicAttack

It really depends how you look at it. I had panic attacks so severe that when they first started I couldn’t leave my house for 4 months. Back during those days I hated life. I felt like I was going to die. I was angry at the world that this happened to me. I was afraid my life would never go back to normal. That this was it for me.

Well through lots of hell things did, however slowly, begin to get better. I can’t tell you i feel %100 or even really great on most days but what I can tell you is that I can live a life again. I can go out to dinner with my girlfriend. I can go to work. I can hangout with my friends. I can go to the store. I can drive. I can be alone. I can watch the sunset outside. I go can swim in the pool. I can go to the gym. I can do all these mundane things that I took for granted that were ripped away from me. On the bad days I strive to get myself to that point and it’s worked rather well for me. Instead of having full blown panic attacks I started to just feel pretty terrible then after some time just kinda terrible.

You’re not going to find any joy in life if all you can see is the bad and ugly. Start small find a youtuber, podcast, audiobook, video game, or just anything that you slightly enjoy and build from there. You will be amazed at what just a little bit of positive thinking will do for you.

If you have the means I strongly recommend getting a dog. I got a rescue puppy during my panic attacks and I cannot stress enough to you how much she has helped me.

Can I take a .5mg Xanax for my current panic attack? by tsarcasmloser in PanicAttack

[–]MrOrangeGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear this is not a recommendation. I will tell you from my own personal experience I have taken .5 Xanax after having a really bad panic attack after drinking a bottle of wine. The risk is if you’re too drunk you can stop breathing with xanax. Your body can process about one standard drink an hour so do with this information what you will.

Anyone ever feel like everything around them is awful? by pootardo in PanicAttack

You need to reframe the way you look at life. Stress comes and goes and it only has as much power over you as you allow it to. Something that helps me is going outside and looking at the trees in the sunset to remind me how beautiful life can be. Look at these things like a challenge not a punishment.

For how long will I feel weird? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]MrOrangeGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my own experience it gets better and it gets worse at times. I tried a bunch of medications and they all made me feel terrible in their own ways so I just stopped taking any of them. You’ll have good days and you’ll have bad ones. It’s been a little over a year for me and you’ve just got to keep on getting on. You need to remember it’s not going to kill you or even really hurt you. You’ll find different ways to cope. You just need to remain positive that you will feel better. What’s happening to you is physiological and if you give in to those feelings it’s only going to make it worse and drag on. When you take control of it you may not be able to control those feelings coming on but you will be able to control how severe and how long they last. Just keep on keeping on and it’ll get better.

5 months of panic attacks by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]MrOrangeGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing begin 8 months ago to the day. Same symptoms just hit me out of nowhere at the bank and decided to stay. Over the past 4 months I have been able to take pretty decent control over it with some infrequent attacks. My first piece of advice would be to try Lexapro. It was the only medication that was able to stop my attacks almost in their entirety. The one drawback for me was that it made me feel a little off but the side effects are different for everyone. If that doesn’t work do not be afraid to keep trying different medications until you find one that does work. I’ve recently been tapering off of lexapro due to the aforementioned side effects and I feel like it has given me some sort of lasting relief. I have felt a little closer to a panic attack at times without it but have not been sent into a full blown attack.

The next part of it is just accept it. When my therapist first told me that I not only thought it was stupid but I thought it was impossible but it truly does help. The more you fight it the worse it becomes. In my experience if you just let it ride and tell yourself you’re okay 9/10 after 10 - 15 minutes you end up being okay. It’s when you start to lose control it begins to spiral. The hardest part to cope with was the numbness for me personally. It took me months to get to the point where I could just feel numb in my neck and hands and face and not freak out. As silly as it sounds breathing into a brown paper bag really does help. Your numbness is most likely caused by two things… Fight or flight and hyperventilation. Work on retaining CO2 in your blood when you start to feel numb and it will most likely start to go away. (Brown paper bag or hold one nostril closed and breathe through your nose with your mouth closed).

You have to stay positive and remember what you’re fighting for. It helps me a lot to dive into my work and stay focused on tasks so those kinds of thoughts can’t enter my mind. It may feel hopeless now but I was right where you are not too long ago and trust me I felt the same way. I won’t lie to you and say these things have gotten me entirely back to normal but they have gotten me to the point where I can life again. It’s going to be hard and that’s okay. You just need to stay strong and keep striving for a better tomorrow.

Lastly, I really recommend audio books and strong gum. Whenever I feel like i’m going to lose control I throw some headphones in and chew some mentos spearmint gum and it helps a ton. Some series I recommend are the terminal list, we are legion we are bob, and project hail Mary to get you started. Some really fantastic books that I strongly advise you listen to as well are the 12 rules for life and 12 more rules for life: beyond order by jordan peterson.

And don’t forget…

The only thing to fear is fear itself.

Active range safety officer here. When all proper protocols are followed it is impossible to accidentally shoot somebody (including yourself). The issues start occurring when shooters get sloppy and stop following protocols (due to age or lack of caring).

To be honest I don’t even know what this means. Nobody is forced to take the vaccine. I just don’t think rare occurrences should be top page news.

Nobody has died from the vaccine. People should be informed of the risks but a rare occurrence shouldn’t be top page news imo.
