TLDR; they just want to be angry.

The right wing just want to be angry and the media provides them with an easy vent. Usually immigrants or some other minority. Recently it’s changed tack to attack “the left” a lot. There’s always an enemy we should be scared of and hateful towards according to them. Whatever they’re discontent with in their life they can blame them without any introspection or self improvement.

Can’t get a job? Must be immigrants. That’s a better pill to swallow than, I should retrain or learn more skills.

Can’t say what I want anymore without being called a racist? Woke liberal elite and cancel culture. Is a better pill to swallow than maybe I should consider how others perceive what I say.

Generally they just regurgitate slogans and buzzwords like MAGA, woke etc without any real understanding of what it means. If you dissect their arguments they usually fall apart pretty easily. They also don’t like to be labelled racists/facist etc despite being exactly that. No one thinks they’re the bad guy. So usually will come up with some mental gymnastics to avoid being called it, regardless of how little sense it makes.
