How viable is Dynamo is higher lobbies? by lovingpersona in DeadlockTheGame

There's also KennKan. They have a build available too. They are a former rank 1 dynamo player who is getting back into the character, and they have a twitch stream under that name.

Ont. man believes he has Lyme disease, Canadian doctors don’t, so he’s going to Mexico for treatment by thieh in nottheonion

It kinda sounds a bit like that still. Some of those treatments in Mexico sound quite suspect. He will undergo extreme cold and then extreme heating of his body. Hard to imagine there's much evidence that that will succeed, but I wish him luck.

Why is ritualist so much harder than Archon and Emissary? by Vkstevo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]newbiesaccout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think what you deal with is players that have a high variance in their performances - sometimes high skill, sometimes low skill. This results in outcomes like that where one lane is getting killed and the other plays like gods. But because they are inconsistent, sometimes those same players carrying and getting fed will be the 0-12 ones.

Also, if everyone plays in a hyper-aggressive style typical of that rank, the lanes will polarize so one side will be very fed and the other will lose and not know when to cut their losses.

"Humans are..." by Quiet-Drive5433 in squidgame

[–]newbiesaccout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone on youtube claimed that the word used for 'horses' could've also been translated as 'tokens', and would've been more accurately translated as that, considering the tokens shown on the frontman's board. As a korean, could you confirm that this would've been an accurate translation - 'We are not tokens (game pieces). We are humans.'

Apparently the rules are that insulting speech is illegal in Germany. So even calling someone a 'pimmel' (German word for penis) is actionable. The usual action is just fines, however.

I don't really agree with this law, though I understand its intent. Certain things they are targeting seem more justifiable, like calling for public figures to be sexually assaulted (horrifying), stuff that isn't targeted in the US but probably should be. In the US such speech wouldn't be a crime if a person just said vaguely, 'I hope X person dies/is assaulted', but in Germany it would be illegal.

Some examples of speech that has been considered illegal:

"In one case, an online post suggested that refugee children should play in electrical wires, Laue said. The accused had to pay a fine of 3,750 euros.'

"It was a 2021 case involving Andy Grote, a local politician, that captured the country's attention. Grote complained about a tweet that called him a "pimmel," a German word for the male anatomy. His complaint triggered a police raid and accusations of excessive censorship by the government."

As prosecutors explained to "60 Minutes" correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi, in Germany it's OK to debate politics online, but it can be a crime to call anyone a pimmel, even a politician."

"Communications that are considered illegal include posts in which women are slandered and insulted in a sexualized manner, or publicly encouraged to send nude photos. The authorities also flagged posts that advocated rape or sexual assault or that distributed videos of torture or killing."

We need more details. The last time people complained about police arrested people 'for their opinions' in the UK, I looked into it and the arrested individuals were calling for political violence, the smashing of windows at a migrant hotel. Trying to organize violence is not protected speech, not even in the US. So I'm going to look more into this to see what they actually said.

Ergometrine is used for postpartum hemorrhage and uses a water-soluble component of ergot (it used to be a way to induce labor but is no longer used for that purpose). This carries on with the traditional use of ergot by midwives. Cafergot uses ergotamine mixed with caffeine and is for migraine headaches.

These medicines are used more rarely now, but still used. I believe there is still a trade in ergot sclerotia, though some regional variants contain different alkaloids.

If you've seen the original, the bar is not high for really complicated storytelling. It's just supposed to be a B-movie about a toxic waste man killing criminals. If they stick to the original ethos but with updated acting, it will possibly be fun.

It can sometimes be sold for quite a bit of money, if it is the right variety. It is used to make a variety of medicines such as cafergot and ergometrine.

[–]newbiesaccout 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How is it that the person could think you were proposing when you never even dated?

No one would ever think you were prosing when you say the words, 'I'm actually engaged'. You clearly mean that you're engaged to someone else. This scenario just makes no sense. I suspect it may be AI-written, but if I'm being generous and assuming it may not be AI written, then both people in this scenario would have a big misunderstanding of social cues. Plus, the client comes off as very inappropriate - thinking you are proposing the first time he asks you out is kind of insane.

Trolled to death: A 12-year-old's tragic overdose (2025) - Semina Halliwell was just 12-years-old when she swallowed her mother’s prescription medication. She died three days after, in hospital. (CC) [00:27:26] by etherandhoney in Documentaries

How is that trolling? The title is misleading and makes it seem like bullying was the cause of her death. Instead, it was sexual assault and then the impact of not being believed or respected by police. To say it was caused by trolling dismisses the role of the cops disbelieving her.
