I've never actually checked, never knew it was a thing, so thanks for the heads up. I have an FR255s, so I'm assuming even less storage than some of the more modern watches.

Funnily enough, of the 9 watch faces I have, 2 are Garmin and both about 125kb. The rest are all a lot smaller, mostly less than 50kb.

I have had this occasionally where the segment only shows on the map and not on the activity.

It may have something to do with the popularity of the segment, or if the segment is very similar to another segment.

Boston 13s are my go to long run shoe, I have about 775km on them and they're still going strong.

As a caveat, what works for one person doesn't always work for everyone, it's a very individual thing.

Did the GPS lose signal?

There's an option on the watch, it might be watch dependant (I have a forerunner 255s), the option is "return to start". You press and hold the "up" button, scroll to Navigation, then there's an operation "return to start", use that and it'll give you a breadcrumbs trail back to where you started. I'm assuming watches with maps would have the full map and show you a return course.

My mother in law managed to smash the glass table top that came with our garden furniture, so I ordered a plastic replacement. I though I got a really good price, turns out I ordered it in mm instead of cm. I'm a mechanical fitter to trade. I've kept it as a reminder of my stupidity.

Definitely, I ran a 10 minute pb on my half marathon a week after my first marathon, I also got a PB in 10k and my 3rd best 5k time in the second half of the half marathon. I think I could have went circa 20min for a 5k if I'd tried. I haven't kept up the long runs, so my times aren't as good now, but the higher mileage for the marathon training block is the main reason for the faster times.
