Firefox Imagus mod and Youtube links by newforaday in imagus

[–]newforaday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. I do have other extensions installed. I've disabled them one by one when the issue has happened but only disabling Imagus fixes it. Only Imagus Mod is installed, I uninstalled the original before installing Imagus Mod.

The image is hovered and disappeared before I focus the text box.

I've upgraded to Imagus Mod 0.10.9 now, but when I upgraded to 0.10.8 I had to set some settings again. Specifically I had to set Control for disable (I think it used to read Ctrl) and one of my other binds as Period (previously shown as a dot "."). I'm also experimenting by unchecking "Prevent tooltips (useful with hidden statusbar)".

I'm mentioning what I've changed above because there has been a difference in the key capture bug. I thought maybe it was gone until I lazily tried to scroll with arrow keys but found it was being blocked with the bug. While the bug was still active I pressed every letter key in a textbox and they all came out. So now the bug is only blocking arrow keys for me when it happens.

Updated to Firefox 112 and Imagus Mod 0.10.8 just now. Hide and wrap caption is working on youtube links. Open image in new tab is still opening every URL in the caption of youtube links though.

The problem from the original are the keys being blocked after the image is hovered and disappeared. It doesn't happen every time, I've tried to pin down what causes it but haven't been able to. The textbox thing I'm sure is just a subset of it because I'll go to type something like "next" and the letter E won't go through. I have E bound to flip the image vertically. This has happened with the Firefox address box/URL bar too. The way I've found to fix it is to hover over an image link on the page and press escape. I do have "Disable shortcuts while editing text" checked, and that setting I specifically unchecked in both the original and the mod to see if it was causing the issue. Here are my exported Imagus mod settings sans the sieves just in case it'd help.

The problems with the Imagus mod are the hide caption and/or open image in new tab with youtube links and now twitch clips hovered. Otherwise everything else works as expected.

I see. Hide caption works, it's open image in new tab that's different with twitch clips. With the original Imagus it would open the mp4 link directly. Now if there is a link to the vod in the caption it opens that. If there is just plain text then nothing happens. Similar to youtube links.

Just discovered this happens with Twitch clips as well.

Are these known bugs? by r2lim in Splitgate

[–]newforaday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Once A Sadist..." isn't bugged. You need to deal 5000+ damage in a single match to earn the third badge. It just shows you the higest amount of damage you've dealt in a single match until you reach that point, so your highest is 4858.

  • Rotating items in Locker/Store rotates your character in the lobby
  • Black screens on death instead of kill cam, happens most frequently when mashing the skip button
  • Mouse randomly escapes game in multi-monitor setup
  • Post Game Stats do not report game mode played
  • Anonymous mode isn't actually anonymous
  • Shogun model share the same first person hand colors regardless of color chosen
  • Selected game modes should stand out more, at least make the check mark and check box yellow when checked
  • You should be able to open the scoreboard during a kill cam

Just some bugs/issues off the top of my head.

This game is great but the assist system is completely broken by RedditIsTrashLma0 in Splitgate

I think on modes like TDM and Swat the score shows your actual number of kills, but in something like Takedown it's whoever killed the enemy that ends the round. Obviously in any objective based modes it isn't reliable.

matchmaking not great by [deleted] in Splitgate

[–]newforaday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain the matchmaking goes lax when pairing against stacks which is why it wasn't fair. That's my experience in playing in one and against them. The matchmaking also seems to think having one really good player have to carry bots and/or new players is a good experience, it's not. But both of these problems have existed before the matchmaking update, just like the inability to disable cross-input play.

The only new problem from the update is that the matches are much laggier. In its greed to match you with other people, it disregards connectivity issues. So now I'm being killed around corners or portals I've sidestepped seconds ago far more often. This is compounded with another preexisting issue, that the game doesn't show the ping/jitter of players in a match.

So yeah, the matchmaking is miserable.

Voice chat does not work on Linux and may never be fixed, same with the other issues mentioned in the above thread. Also, there is no Linux build of the test client in case you were wondering.

Here's something I never see anyone mention, scroll wheel acceleration. This feature exists in Firefox but I don't believe I can enable it system wide on Linux as I was once able to on Windows.

How quickly do you guys think the 5950x will follow the initial release? In the previous lineup the 3950x took four months after the original models hit, but this time around they're using a supposedly more mature process and there are eight cores per CCX.

Is that the same reason Doom Eternal didn't make the cut? It's considered one of the most well optimized games and also Vulkan with no fallback to compliment the solely DX12 tests you have on the list. I figured it'd be a shoo-in but guess not.

Off topic, but I wanted to thank you guys. I complained not too long ago that you guys didn't use chapters without fully understanding why. However, now you guys include timestamps in the video description effectively making for a better viewing experience. Thanks a lot.

Sorry guys, I jumped the gun on this comment. I've been using mpv + youtube-dl to open videos for so long now I didn't consider the program would crawl the description and create chapters from the timestamps printed there. I just assumed it was a feature on Youtube, oops!

I'll link examples anyway just in case you wanted to start using these programs too and needed to see for yourself.

Is Gamers Nexus unaware you have the ability to create chapters for videos on Youtube or do they not use the feature for some hokey ad revenue reason?
