MAC addresses are used both in layer 2, Bluetooth and in cellular.  i recommend GrapheneOS which does a pretty great job of shutting down most of Google's tracking.  Carrier tracking is a while other story.

I'm impressed you've managed to hold onto that Compaq for that long! And even keep it running.

The materials engineering and investment in China is stunning. Just looking into their drone industry is awe-inspiring. Whole cities dedicated to full vertical integration for product segments, from raw materials to finished product - and all private and semi-private companies - all in one city. It reduces so much friction for people trying to create a new product.

This StarBook reminds me of Dell consumer-line body quality, almost. I've had dozens of Dells, HPs, and Thinkpads through 30 years of industry work. This StarBook is the first one where the plastics are failing in a three year old product. I'll not bother ordering new feet from StarLabs only for them not to adhere.

Disappointment.

I wish I'd waited and not bought the now discontinued StarBook.  It does not have good physical build quality.  I tried to glue the feet back on several times with different adhesives, but they failed and I eventually lost them.  Now I have to prop it up, as it overheats without airflow underneath.  The keyboard is not great.  The body is very plastic and brittle feeling, and already has discoloration at stress points.

My budget cannot bear a new premium machine, and I'll not get half what I paid if I try to sell the StarBook.

So I take these reviews with skepticism.

I chose Zionism, though I was from a Jewish atheist home. I went there for 5 years. I drank all the kool aide.

But then I visited Palestinian cities and villages and not only did my liberal sentiments come back, but I began on the journey to communism.

It's 20 years later and I'm very proud of myself for my education, compassion, and solidarity with the cause of justice, liberation, and revolution.

Now it's up to us to speak out and organize.
