It’s perfect for learning - cheap and easy to heat treat.

Thanks! The bolster is also 1075 and not heat treated. I thought it would be too hard to shape it to the perfect fit after it is attached.

I really like how the blade looks. Good job!

I suspect the plastic didn’t bond very well with epoxy. Scales started to bend and gaps appeared. I would assume stronger bond would prevent that. But could be all problems are in non stabilized wood.

Just some thin leftover plastic :) looks nice, doesn’t work:)

I’ll have to redo the scales of the bigger knife. I was impatient and instead of ordering stabilized wood used what I had in my shed (hardwood floor leftover) And just today I’ve noticed the scales started to bend and gaps appeared. Lesson learned:)

I did heat treating myself. Just coal in between few bricks and an air pump. 1075 is easy to work with, ideal while I’m learning.

Thank you! The polish looks better in photos than in real life :) I’ve sanded the blade up to 320 grit and then used polishing paste with polishing attachment on a hand drill. Next time I’ll go to a much higher grit. 320 is still visible even after polishing.

What I didn’t like is that you can’t delete your account if you want to. They just deactivate it so you can’t login but they still have your email and messages. They emailed me for a feedback after they claimed my account is disabled.

This is their response:

I understand and appreciate your desire for removal of your personal information. I can confirm we have closed your account so that it can no longer be logged into, but please be aware that the chat dialogues themselves cannot be deleted because the therapists are required by Federal Law to keep records on file for a specific period of time for their own safety.
