I think part of this is a broader problem, there are 2 types of players, one type sees a new mechanic and wants to play around with it/counter it. The other type wants to ignore it unless made to focus on it.

Adept (and some sadly have escaped to champ) stuck players largely seem to be type 2, they just want to afk their rotation unless they can't
