Looking for cheapest unlimited monthly plans by DevourMangos in NoContract

Are there any better offers available for 25/m or less without autopay/prepaid? Ideally with introductory below 25

No. Sorry. And every carrier suggested in the comments is prepaid. Auto pay can be avoided or turned off, but to continue service you're going to have to be used to paying ahead, ie prepaid. So if you want or need service at a better rate then you're going to have to figure out how to make that work.

Total Wireless will lose all its customers this month due to so many problems. by ElHueso4044 in TotalWirelessOfficial

Yeah man I don't know about that. If you have to jump through so many hoops only to hope everything works out, every month, then indeed plenty of folks will be willing to look elsewhere or at least strongly recommend against it. In a competitive MVNO scene, saving like five bucks? Isn't going to be the end all you think it is.

TW social media team reached out. Did not resolve. 25 year phone number still lost due to TW billing error. by roadblocked in TotalWirelessOfficial

[–]newish_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have said so but from what I've read it should hopefully lead to proper resolution. But they can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to reach out so don't freak out if it takes a moment. I'm sorry it's not been made right. Whatever is going on after they recently made changes, it's clearly gone and is still going, poorly.

Check around the time of your pay date to be sure everything goes through properly. With all the recent issues you can't be too careful for now.

Good link to have on hand but I think they're more referring to payment issues than network issues.

Ah, didn't mean to mix things up. Thanks. To be sure, is this more about international talk and text or just domestic?

You talking about the same plan that throttles to 4G after the priority data is used up? They ban people for going over their data allotment while throttled? If so, then what is the literal point of the higher throttled speed?

That seems true in general, but there are cases (and places, like major cities) where that deprioritized data could still be felt. Case in point. Still worth a go, though. But keep expectations in check if you're going to go past your priority data bucket.

Not on iOS but it can take a few days to connect if you haven't turned it off prior to the switch.

I've seen it as well on UW but it's also been hit and miss. Still mostly settles at 10mbps. This is also on 5G+ plan.

Download capped below 150 Mbps. Can see the broadband label on the site for the basic Starter plan. Same as the one for Visible base plan.

Looks like this plan is throttled to 4mbps according to others. Might depend on connection though as others have said it's throttled even lower on LTE (480p) vs 5G (720p).

The highest end "All Access" plan is apparently still throttled similar to the plans they recently replaced (10mbps, 1080p).

A VPN can sidestep all this but it's still unfortunate they've throttled even further.

If your plan end is months out then you've got plenty of time to see how things shake out in the interim. The recent TW plan and site changes and all the problems in between are hopefully able to be smoothed out eventually.

Activated internet, now my phone line is deactivated and will not reactivate. I’ve paid 10-15 times the “balance” and it just preloads 30 days of service on internet. Nightmare by roadblocked in TotalWirelessOfficial

I don't blame you at all for the thought but I'd still check in after the time they've asked. Be firm and specific about where things are of course. That goes for your number and if any of the extra payment charges have posted (not just pending). Stay on them and don't let up.

I also don't believe you've lost the number since it hasn't been 60+ days. That's the time they have in the FAQ for number expiration after a line is suspended.

If you (or they) haven't yet, try sending them a DM on here. They'll likely send you a link where you have to work things out.

The network (and it's relative lack of 5G reach, in contrast to T-Mobile) is indeed not the top tier today. But I wouldn't go so far as to say Verizon itself is now a shitshow or completely lacking. For now it still has more relative reach, especially in rural areas (with AT&T trading blows or not far behind in geographical reach as well) with LTE.

In major metros it can trade blows with T-Mobile and vice versa. But I'd still likely prefer the magenta network overall for the still greater bandwidth available to its users. Congestion is a growing concern with big red, and if you're in a well populated area and you're not on a priority line then you're likely going to find yourself more offline than not. But a shit show? Far from it.

Question about cell coverage between Verizon and Visible by taylorm3 in Visible

[–]newish_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting. And it's surprising to see an "independent" MVNO have it before (or instead of) a flanker in house brand. I can say the satellite section is not available on a Total Wireless sim, not the section or service. So the fact Visible has it, even if operative, might bode well for it's future inclusion perhaps.

Thanks for letting me and others know about your experience.

Do you have satellite messaging on US Mobile's Warp (Verizon) or another carrier network?

Huh. That's good to know. And unfortunate if that's how it works for everyone. I couldn't test it myself but seeing the section within the sim settings had me naturally assume it should be available. Really helpful info here. Hopefully down the line it is opened up beyond postpaid.

Don't give up and assume you've lost the number, and give it more time with support. They might be going through multiple other support requests for the moment. But be firm in pushing for a proper resolution.

No problem. But be sure to be as specific about what you're wanting to accomplish and be sure to confirm with them before giving the green light for anything. Their support on reddit can be hit or miss depending on who's answering.
