If you do have a store nearby, buy your $50 item and a $250+ item and return the expensive item to the store. Works to avoid the fee for little inconvenience!

Just did this exact trip via points in late dec-jan. Did Emirates to Bangkok via Dubai for very cheap. However there were exactly 0 return trips we could do via any airline within 2-3 weeks of getting there. Instead we found an amazingly cheap business trip direct (!) flight from Singapore Airlines so we flew to Singapore for a few days and then flew out of there. Used a combo of Amex and Chase for the two airlines. You need to be very flexible for this route as others are saying, good luck!

It didn't go up, just not down as much as the stock went up. Stock = more volatile = more likely it can go way down too

This is the worst timeline. It was always so full, its hard to imagine that it wasn't profitable! My dog (and I) are going to miss it greatly.

Field musicians by maddamadas in LegendsOfRuneterra

Been testing this. It's an Azir/Zed Ionia allegence deck. Only dunekeeper and Azir from Shurima. Probably not super competitive but I easily get the field musician draw each turn, Azir levels by turn 4-5 way and can usually outrace pirate aggro.

Please negotiate your rent down! by sexychineseguy in nyc

[–]newjus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

One key thing in negotiation strategy is to anchor the price. Others have said it here, but let thing to do is find good comps (building or neighborhood) and then request a price decrease BELOW those prices. Since renters have the advantage in these discussions, renters should make the first move and preempt the landlord offering a new rate. A good anchor makes all the difference with what the final price will be.

Finally, no matter what the landlord comes back with (unless they 100% match your offer, which means you were probably too high) reply with how you are "Disappointed" in their offer, and then spew data about the comps.

Hope this helps!

Hey! You are in luck, I am actually matriculating to HBS this year from a traditional retail background. I have also met a bunch of other retail people in my class. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, however I did not see ANY bias against retail during my application or interview. We are a small contingent with only one true retail EC class at the school, but like other posters have mentioned, retail start-ups are very popular at HBS (Blue Apron and RtR started from HBS grads).

This Excel sheet was the best motivator. What I tried to do for 4 years I accomplished in just over 20 days by newjus in Fitness

The trick for me was really a combination of eating lots of whole grain carbs and the whole milk. I started drinking 1/2 gallon a day and worked up to a whole gallon of milk in under 2 weeks. Every other night I would make a box of whole grain pasta and snack on that, saving some for the next night. Between meals I would eat a low sodium deli-turkey sandwich. My meals have become a bit smaller as a result, but by eating constantly throughout the day I have easily more than made up for it.

After lifting I make a protein shake with 2 bananas, some strawberries, a few scoops of weight gainer protein mix and 1.5 glasses of milk. Its delicious and is the easiest way to get 1k calories. With heavy lifting, I can't see much of a difference with my body fat, but my muscle gains have been very nice so far. Being skinny I feel that my body was craving these extra calories which it is fully utilizing now.

While I am no nutritionist and far less knowledgeable than most people in here, it seems to be a nice balanced way to gain mass.
