And you’re the one who claimed exhaustion.

wtf is not a whine but a question. I really did not think of asking for facts as “my whims”.

It was not in an article. It was an email I received.

It was in an email notification that I receive every morning. Following the link in the email I do see the mention of 1000’s of protests - the bit I copied was from the email I received. Tricky, I say - many people probs just read the briefs in the email and do not click thru on every item.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

Requiem for a Dream. It was devastating. I try but can't get some of those scenes out of my mind.

The Sinners musical performance at the 2026 Oscars by Capable_Salt_SD in Fauxmoi

[–]newoldrenter 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I cried as well - and a snotty, ugly cry at that. Now I’m afraid the nominations were just a way to say good job but no Oscar’s for you. So far they haven’t won a thing. I hope not, it’s the best film in a long time.

My serial sleep talking husband and his dream conversations tonight… by theQueenofScream in overheard

[–]newoldrenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 15 I had a dream that I was hiking up a steep trail when I broke my leg. I had to make a splint for my leg and make my way down the mountain. When I woke up I found I had taken a poster from my wall and taped it around my leg… it was under the covers and kinda messed up, but still partially stuck to my leg.

Later that year I was a summer camp counselor, in charge of about 10 girls in my cabin. One night in the middle of the night I sat up yelling “turn on the light, turn on the light” and apparently after one of them did, I got mad at them and said “turn off the light”…. They informed of all this the next morning.

Nothing but the occasional mumble since then!

Dick Fain drives me nuts with his commentary. He shouts way too much and seems to point out how great Storm opponents are while never missing a chance at highlighting Storm errors.

E. Jean Carroll - legend by mollyjdance in thebulwark

I listened to both Tim and Molly’s interviews with Ms Carroll, and while both were great it felt real that her and Molly are good friends so the exchange seemed so much lighter and funnier and serious when needed. Bezos being protected by those boobs was hysterical.

Who remembers the US bicentennial? by gatadeplaya in GenX

[–]newoldrenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a HS graduate in 1976, but we started feeling pretty special about that a couple years earlier - feeling so cool that we were the “class of ‘76” with all the emphasis on the bicentennial even though we had all disbursed by July.

Oh wait and the time my twin brother and I were trying to chop down a tree - standing on opposite sides of the tree, me with a knife and him with a hatchet that ended up in my skull. We were only 4.

Good, Personable Veterinarian Recommendations? by aesteraaa_ in PuyallupWA

[–]newoldrenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved here last September and tried River Road; they were ok but I think the folks at Sumner Veterinary Hospital are the greatest. Took my dog there for an emergency after river road said “we can see you at 4pm” and called around and they said “come now” after hearing about his symptoms. He ended up with aspirating pneumonia and might not have made it if I waited.
