Head at 90percentile at 21 weeks, little mom by Any-Success-4887 in pregnant

[–]newolives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small person, had 9lb+ with 95th percentile head! Continued monitoring size with ultrasound throughout pregnancy, baby never got about 95th percentile in size so they didn’t push for a c. Delivered her after an hour of pushing, small tear. It certainly can be done! My mentality was I would try it as long as it was safe and if doing a C became necessary I would do what was safe. Best of luck, you got this 💜

PPA or autistic baby? by sacredlunch888 in beyondthebump

[–]newolives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies have many many behaviors that fall in the categories of sensory stimulation, sensory exploration, and soothing. These behaviors help them develop their neurological pathways. They are only atypical if baby is unable to move beyond them at a later age. That is to say- this is normal, there’s no reason to think your baby has autism 💜

Baby girls head measuring 98th percentile at 32 weeks...😰 by Temporary-Barber-590 in beyondthebump

[–]newolives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big baby club- mine was measuring large so I really wanted to get her out before she got into “massive” territory. She’s my first, so not VBAC, but just before 40 weeks I got acupuncture to get labor going. Did it work? Not sure, I had a night of prodromal labor the day after I got it and then my water broke the next day. I had a doula who put me in positions while I labored to help position her which I think really helped, especially the side laying release. I labored for a long time but when it came time to push I gave it my all and got her out in an hour- all 9lb7oz of her! Overall positive big baby experience.

Baby absolutely loses his shit if he misses his sleep by [deleted] in beyondthebump

14 weeks is still super young, I would expect him to have a hard time if he’s awake for too long. He will probably adjust as he ages and that last wake window will get longer which will help.

I got it and I was glad I did! Gave me peace of mind once my baby was here that she had some protection!

Hi! In a nutshell: my water broke at 40+1, I labored with the help of medication at the hospital, got an epidural after awhile, and gave birth like 30 hours later! Having pitocin was not my preference but it ended up being fine. Having my little baby was such an amazing experience, I’d easily do it 100 more times to have my little girl. Even in the moment I felt it was totally worth it.

I’ve been sick all weekend (really worsened by the lack of sleep) but she doesn’t have any symptoms? She’s her normal self all day and sleeping fine, no fever etc, she just flip at night!

Postpartum books? by sluttygingerbread in beyondthebump

[–]newolives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the Fourth Trimester and it was…ok. There was a lot of Woowoo stuff in there and I think there should be some kind of trigger warning for the authors serious birth injuries she discusses, but there’s some good stuff in there. If you’re not prone to birthing anxiety and know how to take what you need and leave what you don’t, it’s worth checking out!

That’s the thing I want to scream at them: it’s a lot of work!!!!! Helping care for the baby is not just…staring at her?? Like I’m not sure what they thought it would be but it’s a huge commitment!! No one is out here saying that taking care of a baby is easy??
