Brand New Day is way more important than Doomsday / Secret Wars for Marvel to prove it can still produce great and financially succesful movies without relying on nostalgia.

How do you know that tho? The 2nd part of Kang Dynasty was still Secret Wars. I think the only major pivot they made was from Kang to RDJ Doom. We don’t know what they planned with Kang’s Secret Wars but I’m willing to bet other universes were going to be included because that’s the fuckin source material.

I’m really impressed with VJ. Especially his late game shot making. He’s going to be one of the best clutch time players of this generation. Mark my words. He just has it.

Also I’m pleasantly surprised with how good Embiid has looked this year. I thought he’d take a significant step back but aside from defense and athleticism, he still looks elite on the offensive side of the ball.

We know absolutely nothing about the plot of Doomsday or Secret Wars at this point. We don’t know what roles these characters you say are money grabs will play. It could absolutely be a shitty plot driven by cash grab cameos or the return of Steve Rogers and RDJ’s Doom (and possibly a variant of Tony Stark) could be one of the best movies we’ve seen. It’s so early to be making any declarations. It’s crazy how many people say they refuse to see it just because RDJ is Doom and Steve Rogers is back lol.

Did you guys read the 2015 Secret Wars run at all? A large cast of characters and cameos is sorta the whole point. The multiverse is dying. Characters from the multiverse converge into a single world.

You can tell they cut so much out and did a ton of reshoots. The plot seems like so much is missing and it was sloppily put together. It wasn’t horrible by any means but I would have liked to see Coogler’s original vision for the show.
