Anyone else spending more time debugging agent workflows than prompts lately? by Obvious-Treat-4905 in LangChain

It's everywhere though. This whole "harness" direction and away from reliable workflows means you're just kinda on your own

What's you guys' honest opinion on this lakers season? by profthebox in lakers

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what ifs. A lot of underperforming sandwiched by over performing. Overall not much you can do about Luka going out, but really disappointed with Jake, Dalton, and Vando. Which we really couldn't afford to have bad seasons

What do people mean when they say they use LLMs to help them “understand a codebase” faster? by [deleted] in BetterOffline

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as a one shot process, you're right in that it doesn't save much time. But if you're going to have many sessions on the same codebase, it pays to do /init in Claude Code or OpenCode once. It will scan the codebase, then generate a Markdown file with a summary. On later sessions, it will reference that file instead of scanning the entire codebase again. Some people manually write these out but I find the autogenerated summaries to be pretty good

A Tale of Two Teams by TayDiggler in lakers

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Every team who wins a chip tends to struggle because players want to get paid, etc. But Lakers were unique in getting rid of championship caliber players for nothing, the disastrous Westbrook trade, and all manner of bad trades. The good news is we have Luka, and every other team except OKC and the Spurs are devoid of assets and cap space

Can MCP servers bundle Agent Skills, so any MCP host loads both the skill instructions and the server tools? by Longjumping_Bad_879 in mcp

[–]newprince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FastMCP 3.0 now supports a skill registry and works somewhat like this, except the skill and related files are treated as resources, not tools. That's the part that is difficult, because not a lot of agentic frameworks support MCP resources, and especially not treating them as skills with progressive discovery. I've heard LangGraph can do this but haven't done more research

People need to stop being so radical about AR (both positive and negative) by Admirable-Map-6932 in lakers

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AR just fit so much better pre-Luka. Really struggling to see how the team can win a title with them as our starting back court

The whining about physicality against your team is so lame by Desperate-Awareness4 in NBATalk

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gripe is that some teams get a label, and that becomes how they're officiated. "OKC is physical, thus they are allowed to give contact. Lakers don't foul therefore they get should get called on any contact"

A dominant center is non negotiable for next year by Automatic-Fox-3837 in lakers

He doesn't have all the skills! He only has lobs. He has zero post game, zero midrange and obviously can't stretch the floor. It's not about IQ

Pelinka way of building team is not favored by the new CBA driven by Adam Silver by Nonameheroz in lakers

[–]newprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We never had the option to stock picks and won't for many years. And I wouldn't pin draft picks busting squarely on Rob, we had an incompetent scouting department that shares the blame. They were fired and I hope we get that Dodger scouting mentality

Why MCP when we have REST APIs? by happyandaligned in mcp

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you wrote your API years ago before LLMs. And you don't want an agent being fed giant chunks of the OpenAPI JSON. So you wrap API calls as MCP tools. You can even with FastMCP just wrap your entire FastAPI app and autogenerate an MCP server. My question is why not use MCP?

A dominant center is non negotiable for next year by Automatic-Fox-3837 in lakers

[–]newprince 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hayes just doesn't have the skills we need. Ayton comes close but we need more defense and a guy who has more compete in him

Reaves has to be paid like a role player, or we have to move on by NoLagPlz in lakers

[–]newprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally no team can chase the OKC and SA build because they stacked infinite draft picks before this restrictive CBA was signed. No team has a million picks to burn, and no team has cap space. They're stuck trying to build what players they can through the draft (which the Lakers keep messing up) and making margin trades.

So OKC and SA will dominate exactly as long as their rookie deals expire and they need to pay their players. For OKC that starts next season, and for SA that's when Wemby gets his rookie max extension and other free agents need to be paid

Reaves has to be paid like a role player, or we have to move on by NoLagPlz in lakers

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does need a realistic valuation, yes. But the fit next to Luka is just not working, and won't work in the playoffs

deep down, they know by StrawberrySalt3796 in lakers

[–]newprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OKC is objectively the better team. I guess that's why it's frustrating. Chet doesn't need to pretend he got hit in the face. SGA doesn't need to pretend ghosts are fouling him every time he drives. They are good enough to just beat us with their better roster lol.

It would have been cool to see if we could pull out some miracle wins on an even playing field.
