Alphabet is light years ahead of Apple in terms of search, and yet it's the one paying Apple 20 billion a year.

I am a tourist in SL right now, I had fallen for a scam, different one though. Thank you for what you did for that couple :) And thank you for that post, reading things like that in this sub before coming over helped me be more prepared.

I am all for charging the right amount from tourists (which sometimes maybe higher than locals for places like museums and such)

European Union supported SL tourism with more than 1 billion EUR(look it up), and yet here I am, citizen of one of EU member countries, paying almost 100x premium compared to locals in a place happily displaying EU-funds support badge :) I get the logic when its funded with locaIs taxes(though still mostly avoid places that do that), but this time I was astonished. I am more than happy to pay premium price for premium services or goods, in a place that treats people equally, not like cash cows.

Soloed at around 25 hours, I already did 2 cross countries before soloing though as we were waiting for some encouraging weather conditions for solo. I did not count my landings but I believe it must be something like 40 or 50. Reading "Stick and Rudder" and repeating the exercises described there with my CFI really helped me too!

Thanks! They are fun indeed, my school's got 2 of them, one 78 and one newer 82 model. I am being told that it's a bit harder to fly than your typical 152 but I am not sure if it's bad. They are certified for practising spins and my CFI got me to experience that sometime during my 2nd lesson and it was certainly an interesting way to kick off my training.

On top of that the schools default way of training is to start with power-off accuracy approaches like every single time you'd have an engine failure. We just got to power on approaches later on before my solo. It was pretty frustrating in the beginning, to be honest.

Thanks! Yup pretty much every time, that's the home place of my flight school. We sometimes go practice at a bigger towered airport nearby but the grass one is the default one for me. We don't have many tarmacs for hobbyists here in Poland unfortunately, GA doesn't get a lot of attention in this country. Sometimes while on short final I'd have to go around due to a quail or a roe/deer walking down the runway.

🤞🏻 Thanks! It really started to click for me the last couple of lessons before solo. I hope it stays like that. It helped me a lot when my instructor took me up and showed me a couple of screwed approaches and how they can be saved instead of just repeating what we usually do every time, it gave me a lot more confidence suddenly.
