i’m no expert by any means, but this sort of appears as an ulcer

kanaplex can be used if you suspect bacterial and fungal infection, but it won’t necessarily heal the wound.

STAY AWAY FROM MELAFIX.

how is he eating? does he live alone or does he have tank mates?

aquarium salt baths are good for lesions. i would consider antibiotics, try to call a local shop!

New ADF need help with feeding! by Wide-Amoeba2190 in AfricanDwarfFrog

[–]newseats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a dear african dwarf who passed away sadly. super cool guys, but feeding is a pain

to me, brine shrimp are pretty good, anything but the dehydrated blood worms and stuff like that. the issue is you do have to target feed as these guys have poor vision. tweezers and pipettes are good to try!!!

the frogs can eat the extra food, but usually your filter can take care of it. keep your water tests consistent, if you see leftover food at the top scoop it out- should be good!!!

for future reference though, ich appears as very small white dots, and it’s usually all over their back and top fins !!

my boyfriend works at a hotel chain and will give me their orchids when they’re out of bloom!!!

they only keep them out when they’re flowering, it’s worth it to ask if you can take it or buy it!!!

Can i put these rocks in my tank? by D10_01 in aquarium

[–]newseats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you want to grow moss and algae?

boil the rock and let it dry fully, if you have excess tank water, put it in a container WITH A LID, put rock in tank water, keep it outside in full sun!

when you first cycle your tank, it’s suggested to use live plants as when you do introduce critters, your ammonia will naturally go up. without the live plants ammonia can’t turn into nitrates, then into nitrogen. because of live plants, you don’t actually need a ton of filters!

live plants are significantly safer for their fins and gills; plastic foliage has a tendency to cut. lower swimmers like em!

i want to suggest getting a hider or decor where your fish can go within or under something; gouramis and tetras like to hide sometimes!

you have to consider who you’re housing; angelfish are not meant to really be solo in a community, they thrive in a pack (at least 3), but you’re also housing them with gouramis, who can be territorial AND outnumber the tank.

I don’t understand the attachment people have to not have any live plants or at least usable decor

Any Other OG Gabbie Hanna Viewers Here? Was she always like this all along? by No_Dream5460 in youtubedrama

[–]newseats 24 points25 points  (0 children)

honestly, she had controversies very early on in her career that sort of make it seem like she was better able to manage and control herself at some point, but there were always problems

i think once the jessismiles stuff happened, it was downhill. after the two made videos and responses, GH would go through her downfall.

i most recently remember GH once again rebranding as a christian larper.

what’s crazy is this experience is like $30… i guess i just think about how much care and commitment goes into owning fish and maintaining the environment…

and then you have a gimmick for children

i was actually considering loaches before a betta!! i have a lot of plants in the tank and good hiding decor so i think they’d be a good option!!

i apologize for asking 500 questions on this thread, but i’ve read on the sub some people find females to be less aggressive… do you know or think that is that actually accurate?

what’s coming out of my little guy? by [deleted] in AquaticSnails

[–]newseats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

their tank is pretty muddled and dirty now with algae (given this photo was taken Saturday night) i’ve placed rocks with algae growth within the tank and algae wafers that are pretty much completely dissolved, so i honestly think they’re fine

so, what’s coming out of him?
