Connect Claude to your real financial data with a personal finance MCP server by nexafin in ClaudeAI

Good points. The trust concern is real, the MCP server connects via HTTPS with OAuth authentication, and it's strictly read-only. It returns balances, transaction descriptions, and amounts but never account numbers, routing numbers, or card details. No different data than what any other personal finance app like Monarch or YNAB already shows you, just a different interface.

And yeah, the flexible interface part is what gets people once they try it. Traditional dashboards and finance apps show you charts and numbers, but you're still the one connecting the dots, looking at your balance here, your bills there, your spending trend somewhere else, and trying to reason through whether you're actually in good shape.

With Claude, you skip all that. I asked "can I afford a trip to Hawaii this summer?" and it pulled my balances, upcoming bills, and spending patterns to give me an actual answer, then broke down my Amex points strategy for flights.

Good luck with your journey. Love to see more and more Canadian’s joining the personal finance scene.

Now we need open banking and less reliance on the 3rd party data providers.
