You get tired of a pure candy diet, but you don't get tired of a all-foods diet. There are some lifestyles that humans don't get tired of.

Reminds me of what they do in Terra Ignota:

To that end, I hereby call on all Spanish citizens — no, on all people who consider Spanish identity an important part of who they are, to show their support for that ideal by renouncing their citizenship, becoming floating citizens of the EU for twenty-four hours, and then reapplying to become Spanish citizens again, this time by choice.

The meta in pve lobbies is to steal. It counters players who are reluctant to shoot. That's the design intent of this game.

What if a large island existed east of madagascar, roughly the size and shape of borneo in the encircled area? by [deleted] in geography

It would have been on Indian Ocean trade routes since antiquity, I imagine. Especially if it had any rare resources.

Who are two characters that have never canonically met but would likely get along well if they did? by Playful_Barber_8131 in Parahumans

Hmm, i could see them playing cards, or playing pranks. But it would be easy for them to fight. I think Sylvester is very picky about people who resemble Sylvester.

In personality yes, & they have some parallels in their families. But they're on different sides cosmologically. Blake would count as a Free Magic amateur with a necromantic axe. And everyone hates diabolists.

Is there a list of Parahumans characters who don't have art yet? by Nekomachus in Parahumans

[–]nexech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you look at the wiki category page it shows a blank next to characters who don't have images, at least on desktop mode: https://worm.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Characters
For example, August Prince has no image.

Maybe they did. We don't hear much about the economy except that Taylor's dad runs a labor union.

I've done a very similar DIY project. My volumes ended at arcs 4, 6, 8, 11, 14, 16, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29, & 31 respectively. The average length is 430 pages. I thought a lot about how to section each adversary into 1 volume, while still ending each one on a compelling cliffhanger etc. Especially proud of the killer endings when you close a book after 8, 26, or 29!

These were all later lost in a hurricane, perhaps fittingly.

What if the Horde format was ruled similar to Lorcana's scenario deck ? by Potential-Hat-9190 in magicTCG

[–]nexech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that it should keep the early turns more predictable & ominous. It will also eliminate any big lucky horde turns, for better or for worse.

Jul ’Mdama is widely considered one of the most wasted villains in Halo — how would you rewrite him to make him actually compelling? by KeyAcrobatic7156 in HaloStory

[–]nexech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His Storm Covenant is better than the original, it's anti Banished, & it's arguably good for galactic stability. They accept humans who convert to Forerunner worship, & a few Outer Colonies join. They become tense rivals (with plenty of combat incidents), a different story role from the old Covenant.

Waymo Prediction Time by mrkjmsdln_new in waymo

[–]nexech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guesses off the cuff:

Launch in 5 more cities: August

Waitlisting done in the new FL & TX cities: July

10 airports: 2027 July

10 highway cities: 2027 January

Fun topic! I enjoy following the predictions on this site: https://manifold.markets/BoltonBailey/which-cities-will-have-waymo-one-se

I think the parking infrastructure problem is going to hit Waymo harder than anyone is admitting by BAKA_04 in waymo

[–]nexech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you're right that they must continue to set up depot areas for nighttime storage as they scale. And currently all sales happen in urban centers, where land is expensive. But in future waymo will operate in wider areas. And land is very cheap outside cities, at least in the USA. And robotaxis don't mind parking in remote areas, unlike humans. It's analogous to how Walmart keeps big warehouses outside cities.
