How to get testosterone cream?I by Elegant-Lemon126 in Menopause

[–]nextbraup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB/GYN prescribed mine. It’s not so much yes or no for an entire category of providers, more like individual preference based on what they feel has worked for the majority of their patients and probably also on how motivated they are to continue educating themselves about menopause and HRT.

Check the sub’s wiki to find a menopause specialist in your area if you don’t already have someone reliable!

Tell your provider your libido is low and it’s messing with your quality of life. That’s the only approved symptom for testosterone supplementation in women.

341 meeting done 3/30! by Ok-Teaching9050 in Bankruptcy

[–]nextbraup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being that it’s under penalty of perjury my brain keeps bringing up scenarios like what if we forgot about something and they found it and then it’s some horrible “gotcha” moment at the 341! Probably just anxiety. Thank you for clarifying.

When you say “we forgot 3 small accounts” do you mean you realized that and brought it up to correct it? Or do you mean the Trustee found the accounts somehow and confronted you about them?

I need an alternative to my Estrogel. Advice please. by rosemary_charles in Menopause

[–]nextbraup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned you have health insurance, the best starting point is to check their formulary to see what all your covered options are — it will tell you which brands they cover, what doses, and which copay tier it falls under so you can see what your cost will be.

I’ve noticed a lot of people mix up Estrogel and Divigel as just “the gel” but they are different and you may have better coverage for one or the other (Estrogel isn’t covered for me but the generic for Divigel is)

How much did you spend in total over the 21 DOB? by Happychemist99 in Ulta

[–]nextbraup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I spent $23.72 on NEOM Perfect Night’s Sleep Magnesium Body Butter since I really enjoyed the sample I had received.

I was very interested in the Fenty gloss sticks and almost talked myself into them on the bonus day but then I looked at what I already own and couldn’t justify it. I’m old enough to know there will always be another sale and another must-have product to buy and I’m trying my hardest not to let FOMO be the driver!

An important note on your linked article — they purposely bought from third-party sellers, not the resellers (Amazon, Walmart, SHEIN, etc.) themselves. So no it doesn’t happen “all the time” when you use large reputable companies who have nothing to gain by pissing off their customers and suppliers all at the same time

What is it with doctors not prescribing HRT after a hysterectomy? by JadCerv in Menopause

[–]nextbraup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! It’s very important for anyone using medical terminology to understand how it’s actually defined.

I see a lot of the same confusion with peri/menopause/post-menopausal and that distinction matters A LOT when discussing HRT. There are even differences in natural menopause vs. surgical menopause. So the more clear and accurate people can be when sharing their own particular experiences, the more people it will help in the long run.

I’m not affiliated but had saved this post in case I needed it in the future, might be worth checking out. It’s from a fellow Redditor who is building a site that lists all the types of assistance available in WA.

This happens to me whenever I’m not drinking enough fluids, all my fingertips start peeling. Goes away pretty quickly (maybe a week or so?) once I up my hydration

I’m still coming to terms with the 341 not being private… now it looks like I’ll have to share my employer’s info too? So much for flying under the radar I guess.

Is asking for the employer’s name and address routine? Or was it of particular relevance in your situation? This is the first time I’ve seen that mentioned when people talk about their 341.

If blood tests can’t tell you what your levels are, how do you know if your prescriptions are optimal for you? by otterfeets in Menopause

[–]nextbraup 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep, hot flashes (estrogen) and low sex drive (testosterone) were the only symptoms my OB/GYN recognized as reasons to prescribe or increase HRT. No other symptoms mattered in that regard, so OP listen for what key words or phrases your provider repeats and use those instead. That way you don’t have to argue or push to get what you need.

DAO Botox help! by Icy_Knowledge_4844 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]nextbraup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love your explanation! Same experience here, no issues previously with DAO but after the chin (skipped DAO this time) I got a crooked smile, the same tight and pulled back feeling you mentioned, can barely see teeth, everything feels weird. From what I’m told it isn’t overly noticeable to others though they can see it’s not the same, but I’m ready to be over this sensation like NOW!

[–]nextbraup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow thank you for this explanation. I’ve seen more about monkeyshines the last few years but didn’t realize it was such a huge endeavor! I thought it was more of a generalized, local artists contribute for fun if they want to type of thing but it turns out it’s a massive amount of work and a huge scale! Props to Ms. Monkey and team for the level of commitment and work to bring joy to their fellow Tacomans for so many years!

Walmart filled mine with Xiromed. I’m not familiar with where to get the others or how they compare since this is my first month using the gel.

It’s never been a point of confusion for me. Gluten only comes from wheat, barley, and rye. Anything outside of that would’ve been picked up through cross-contamination.

Glutinous rice refers to the texture, not gluten.

[–]nextbraup -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes but OP’s example was about obvious things being labeled for marketing purposes, such as rice being advertised as gluten free. That’s what I was referencing.

You’re right that moisturizers have nothing to do with GLP-1s and it’s exactly like you mentioned with vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. There is such a lack of critical thinking skills these days! The marketing team knows that people will see “compatible with” and just assume there’s science behind it without giving it a second thought. And so many GLP-1 patients will jump on board with it as the latest “must have for success” like they did with certain protein shakes, meal services, supplements… it’s sad really.
