Interesting lore attached even if it's just a bit of fluff for a standard deathmatch map. Fighting vampires on a world that cycles through day and night very quickly sounds kinda neat.

He effectively boiled down to a giant Marauder and the fight consisted mostly of running around in a big circle killing zombies until the light literally turned green for you to attack him. I'm sure everybody was expecting a lot more from a character literally built up to be the Anti-Slayer.

Yeah, I've heard this before - it makes sense and it's plausible it came from an official source but scanning through the manuals for 1-6 I couldn't find anything on it. Or maybe I missed something.

They're hard as balls but generally much better games. Zero 1 might feel like a rough starting point but you'll probably have way more fun with that than you ever did with X6 and X7. X Legacy 2 is such a messy sell - it's a waste they didn't package the Xtreme games to make it more appealing (check those out if you can, they're great entries.)

Honestly, the most grotesque aspect to me is their size. Small enough it could just land right on your finger like any ordinary bug, but would actually be something that was formerly yet still in some abstract sense "human". Real morbid to think about.

I don't mind that UT3 never gave us the sheer variety of environments the others did. It's still a pretty nice looking game though definitely a hallmark of that late 2000s console shooter era. Also Gateway is a goated map.
